Palestinians plan mass rush on Gazan-Israeli border Monday
http://www.debka.com/headline.php?hid=5050 ^ | 2/24/08 | DEBKA

Posted on 02/24/2008 10:04:58 AM PST by Mossad1967

Beefed-up Israeli military and security forces prepared to repulse thousands of Palestinians planning to crash the full length of the Gazan-Israeli border and its crossings at 10:00 a.m. IT Monday, Feb. 25.

DEBKAfile’s military sources report Hamas is engineering a “popular” protest to be much more violent than the Jan. 23 Palestinian surge into Egypt through the border wall smashed by its bulldozers.

Behind the human shield of women, children and elderly leading the assault on Monday, Hamas, Jihad Islami and Fatah are expected to shoot, send in suicide bombers and unleash a Qassam barrage. If Israeli forces are goaded into opening fire, civilian casualties may be heavy enough to draw international condemnation. If they hold back, the Palestinian terrorists will capture the border fence and knock it over.

By preventing a full-scale military operation against the Palestinian missile and terror campaign from Gaza and imposing a siege instead, prime minister Ehud Olmert and defense minister Ehud Barak have left the initiative with Hamas which exploits it to the hilt.

DEBKAfile reports “human chain which will “demonstrate” along the border from the Rafah terminal in the south to Erez in the north is organized by the Committee for Breaking the Israeli Siege headed by Hamas, although the terrorist group’s spokesmen claimed it is a “spontaneous” protest against the Israeli blockade.

Israel’s military and security chiefs are conferring urgently Sunday night with chief of staff Lt. Gen. Gaby Ashkenazi.

The Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem told reporters that non-lethal measures for dispersing crowds are ready to ward off the massive assault on the border fence in an effort to avoid civilian casualties.

After weeks, Egypt finally cracked down on the Palestinian invasion of Sinai when its foreign minister threatened to “break the arms and legs” of infiltrators. Even then, they were defied by the Palestinian invaders.

It looks now as though the long-delayed big confrontation between the IDF and Hamas will not take place inside the Gaza Strip but on Israeli soil.

It depends on whether the Israelis set up machine gun, howitzer lines of defenses and starts mowing them down. Say, that sounds about right.

Ergo...another foot in mouth posting...This has serious international implications and you say it is ‘utter nonsense’...and all the nuke rattling by the moosbats is also nonsense eh ?...

Go and read today’s edition of DEBKA and you’ll see that the Israeli’s are taking this very seriously, and if i am reading it right, Hizballah may use that human wave as a shield to do something in Northern Israel...

I'm not wrong about Debka, it is a worthless source. If you want to post a Jerusalem Post article on a parallel subject, feel free. Don't expect any respect for peddling Debka crap.

And from AUSTRALIA:

Protesters warned against crossing into Israel’s territory
February 25, 2008 - 6:18PM
Source: ABC
Israel is prepared to use deadly force to stop Palestinian protesters from forcing their way into Israel during a planned rally along the Gaza Strip’s frontier, a senior Israeli defence official says.

Organisers linked to Gaza’s Islamist Hamas administration said they would hold a peaceful rally in which they estimated 40,000 to 50,000 women and children would form a “human chain” along the border and call for an end to an Israeli-led blockade.

Hamas blew open Gaza’s southern border wall with Egypt last month, allowing thousands of needy Palestinians to surge across.

“I hope that, ultimately, they (Hamas) understand that we are deployed and ready, that this will not be a repeat of what happened in the Philadelphi Corridor (Gaza-Egypt border) a few weeks back,” Deputy Israeli Defence Minister Matan Vilnai told Israel Radio.

“We don’t plan to fool around in this regard. We will use measures in the way we deem necessary to prevent people breaking into the state of Israel’s territory.”

Asked if this could include using live fire against Palestinians, Mr Vinai said: “Anything that must be done, will be done.”

What will Israel do? They’ll have to stop the terrorists from crossing, but if they use force it will most certainly bring condemnation and more problems.

What will Israel do?...

What has Israel done in the past? Perhaps if you read what Professor Paul Eidelberg writes you may reach an understanding of the depth of the problem. It’s taken me YEARS to finally understand (to a limited extent) but whatever he writes about the US - even that is problematical. The Left has Israel by the throat, Israel desperately needs constitutional reform...and if the US acts in its own interests by trying to FORCE a settlement, that’s also understandable IMO.

The XX%$#?&!!! MARXISTS are responsible!

Hope this helps.

I think an MG43 machine gun would be more appropriate. 1200 rounds a minute. Yee haa.
