Because I know history, and the writer doesn't.
But since you raised the point of 1938, you are aware, aren't you, that that year doesn't work for Poland, either? (We are talking ignorance of pretty basic history, here, on the part of the writer.)
The only thing that he has arguably right for 1938 would be Czechoslovakia. German troops moved into the Sudetenland in October, 1938. Of course, the conquest of the rest of the country didn't fall in that year, either.
So to summarize: wrong as to the Rhineland, wrong as to French territory, wrong as to Poland, wrong as to PM at the time of the Rhineland.
Now, what point were you trying to make?
