Ex-SAS soldier: 'Britain knew about US torture'
The Times (UK) ^ | 2/25/08 | David Byers

A former SAS soldier claimed today that the British secret service had been operating in a covert joint squad with the United States in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2001 and that UK operatives knew detainees were being tortured by the Americans.

Ben Griffin, 29, who left the military at the beginning of last year, said British political leaders knew about what went on in the taskforce and were therefore complicit in the "illegal" tactics being used by US troops. He called for Tony Blair and Gordon Brown to face trial for breaking international law.

Ben Griffen is a bloody wanker. I’d like to poop in his fish and chips.

Ran into a nut job the other day who was concerned about the US torturing prisoners.

I said, "Let's have a little test."

"Grade Scale of 1 to 10 for each of the following:"

"Torture - Daniel Pearl."

"Torture - Web videos after web video of masked Muslim fanatics beheading hostages and prisoners."

"Torture - waterboarding."

"OK let's total up our cards and see what we have."

Thanks for playing.

The article does not specify what actions constituted the alleged “torture.” He just keeps saying “torture” without giving a clue just what was allegedly done to detainees.

Seems to me that if he had direct knowledge of waterboarding or thumbscrews or what-have-you, he’d specify. I call B.S.

The only way you leave the SAS is retirement, death or discharge. I wonder which one this wanker falls under? Because he is 29, I am inclined to think this guy was asked to leave the regiment. I also would like to know what acts he characterizes as torture.

He just keeps saying “torture” without giving a clue just what was allegedly done to detainees.

But don't you understand, it was secret! See from the article:

other secretive prisons in Iraq and Afghanistan where individuals faced torture

See, they were secret. So secret that the details of all this torture remain unknown. But our boy Griffin, he assures us that, despite their secrecy and the complete absence of detail, these prisons were all torture all the time. He's sure of it.

If waterboarding is torture, why hasn’t someone at Fox News been arrested for waterboarding Steve Harrigan, a reporter:

Third paragraph of the article tells you.
