this story is dead. no one cares if he went to a muslim school when he was like 7 years old. It sounds tawdry and stupid when people try to use this against him. stop beating a dead horse.

if this is the best opposition research you can find, then McCain might as well drop out now

On the one hand, this would have been true had Obama not tried to trot out the “I’ve never been a Muslim” blanket denial.

Now that he has, it is a question that goes to the candidate’s integrity.

Unless religion, like sex, is one of those things “that everybody lies about.”

On the other hand, the Besuki school’s status as public doesn’t mean the same thing that a public school in the U.S. implies. Most publicly funded schools around the world, and Indonesia is no exception, provide religious instruction for their students in the faith designated by their parents. Obama’s Muslim education therefore is completely congruent with his attendance at Besuki.

So why can’t the candidate come clean on this?
