McCain Apologizes for Radio Host’s Obama Comments at Rally

John McCain apologized Tuesday for disparaging comments about Barack Obama made by talk radio host Bill Cunningham at a McCain campaign rally in Cincinnati. Cunningham, a radio host at WLW-AM, had warmed up the crowd at Memorial Hall with comments about Obama and Hillary Clinton, likening Obama to a “hack, Chicago-style” politician and saying the Illinois senator would “saddle up next to Hezbollah,” Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and North Korean leader Kim Jong Il if elected president. When McCain addressed the crowd, he apologized for the remarks. “I regret any comments that may be made about these two individuals (Obama and Clinton) who are honorable Americans,” he said. “We just have strong philosophical differences, and so I want to disassociate myself from any disparaging remarks that may have been said about them.”

Now why would Mac have to apologize for something said by a talk show host?
Does he own part of the show?
Is the talk show host part of his staff or family?

Very Clintonesque.

Is MccAIN COMPLETELY INSANE? His primary complaint according to Fox an Friends is the use of Obama’s middle name. Senator Obama has stated that he would converse with the terrorist organizations.
Senator Mccain is basically saying that anything that may shed a negative light on Obama is off limits. Does anyone think maybe Senator Mccain will be voting for Barrak Hussein Obama?

I’ve been trying to cozy up to Mccain, trying to find a way in which I may be able to hold my nose and vote for him, but every time he opens his mouth, it gets more difficult. He prefers to denigrate a conservative that has just allied himself with him than to allow facts about his enemy be broadcast.

The man’s name is Hussein! There was no need for anyone to apologize, especially not someone who didn’t control the particular mouth which called that candidate by his name.

AAAAAHHHHH! When will these stupid RINOS ever realize WE DON’T NEED TO APOLOGIZE FOR NOTHING!

This whole thing makes absolutely no sense at all to me. None.

Enough with the @#$%^&*()kissing.

But then again, McCain might want what ever smears come from the left. They’ve already set aside I think it’s over $20 million to smear McCain.

Which would work is another matter? Running a clean campaign or one with smears? I think it would be interesting to see which theory would the American people buy into.

It’s a gamble either way.

Im sure there will be PAC’s attacking Obama’s positions in the general election. Is Mccain going to be spending all his time apologizing for people pointing out the fact that Obama and his wife have communist leanings? Is his plan to stip the military to the bones to fund universal healthcare off limits? The only thing allowed is the silly “I’m the candidate ready to start on day one” argument; hasn’t worked out well for Hillary.

I like it. Makes him seem all warm and cuddly and friendly and fair, while drawing attention to the comments made, which likely have merit.

"It’s a gamble either way."

The real "gamble" is McCain.

If he's elected, whose ass will he kiss the longest and hardest - Teddy Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, or Harry Reid?

McCain is just being his old, politically correct, leftist self. Conservatives should not be surprised. And, with such a weak election strategy, we should not be surprised or disappointed over his loss in November.

I’m sure a lot of people will get their digs on Obama. I’ll do my part.... with pleasure BUT I think where McCain might draw the line is at his speaking engagements.

I agree with your analysis....makes sense to most of the electorate, save the McCain haters where nothing he does would gain their approval!
