ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- A tiny Alaska village eroding into the Arctic Ocean sued two dozen oil, power and coal companies Tuesday, claiming that the large amounts of greenhouse gases they emit contribute to global warming that threatens the community's existence.
The city of Kivalina and a federally recognized tribe, the Alaska Native village of Kivalina, sued Exxon Mobil Corporation, eight other oil companies, 14 power companies and one coal company in a lawsuit filed in federal court in San Francisco.
Also named were Peabody Energy, a major coal producer, and power companies AES, American Electric Power, American Electric Power Services, DTE Energy, Duke Energy, Dynegy Holdings, Edison International, MidAmerican Energy Holdings, Mirant Corp., NRG Energy, Pinnacle West Capital, Reliant Energy, The Southern Co. and Xcel Energy.

Even the eskimos no longer want to be self-reliant. Sigh.

So, can we expect a credit from the Eskimos every time it snows? If so, they owe us big time this year!
My big toe hurts. Can I attach an addendum to that suit?
Some lawyer wants to strike it rich with a bunch of ignorant clients....
Erosion on a barrier reef?!! Those monsters!
My my - beachfront property will erode over time - did anyone explain building on a barrier reef between a sea and a river isn’t the most secure foundation for any inhabited land use?
No doubt this will be another money-making venture from the hysterical global warming assault.
How are they going to get the Sun in court?!? LOL
Global warming killed my dog.
Americopogenic Global Warming?
If ever a case demonstrated the need for tort reform, this is it.
Uh-oh, see Drudge: Temperature Monitors Report Worldwide Global Cooling...
There goes another entitlement lawsuit. Bad timing. Can I interest you in some home heating oil futures?
Good!
Now we can prove in court that there is no basis for man-made global warming.
Erosion? Only there? Erosion is EVERYWHERE! We have lived on the Texas Gulf coast since 1973 (minus four temp. relocations in L.A.) and every time we have a hurricane or bad storm we have EROSION. It is the EARTH in its natural state! We put our discarded Christmas trees along the shoreline to create natural sand dunes, they build back up over the trees, to cut down on erosion. We have DUNES DAYS. And this one has NOTHING to do with Glowbull Warming. My friend in Michigan is saying she would LOVE some WARMING! They have had more snow this year than any previous year!
Mars is having GLOWBULL WARMING too!!!!!!

(I got better).
Just read POLITICALLY INCORRECT GUIDE TO GLOBAL WARMING last weekend. It breaks it down into easy to read language for me, someone who is not scientific. I recommend this book and there are many others on same subject. Plus read everything by James Inhofe and William Gray.
