Isn’t the little hummingbird dear? That ball is a water fountain for the birds..I just discovered the site where I found this is now password only access.
I was going to try to get the original picture and resize it on my current imaging sites that don’t decrease the size..just the bytes..I loved the site the hummingbird came from and have some old favorites I have posted from this garden.I will miss browsing there.
Beautiful!
I keep a clay or plastic saucer on the ground and put the sand color rocks in it for the sparrows and they absolutely love it. No other birds bother it. The reason I started that was one day there was some sort of container out there that had collected water and the sparrows were trying to bathe in it and it just wasn’t large enough. Little birds don’t go to the bigger bird bath, except I do see the yellow finches go to the bigger one. My sparrows love their private little bath!
I use a large clay saucer because it is easy to take in and bleach in summer and I have two more waiting for use..I put out two when cedar waxwings and robins come..So far not one sighting this year.
:o(
LOL
That is sooo cute and funny, Jaycee.

Right on~~~
Good Morning, JustAmy!
Good morning, y'all.
LOL! Love it!
I do too and a friend emailed me some today and she didn’t know we were always posting them on this delicious site.
Thats a cutie you just sent!
Hi Ladies. Great photos, 78 and 81. I couldn’t guess that was a fountain either, but the picture is so precious. The garden looks to be a paradise for the birdies. And the red-headed birds remind me of the silly finches that set up a fuss out here yesterday morning.
There was a huge racket as the sun rose bright and warm. I looked out and some finches were trying to feed at the Hummingbird feeder. It’s a “hover-only” feeder so all they could manage was to knock it around a bit. Momma ran them off anyway. A large male (red-headed) finch did linger close to the nest but gradually withdrew. Whew, high drama:):)
The babies say Hi to the Aunties:):)
I had my hair cut yesterday. It was really nice to get out and see all of the almond trees in bloom. And of course, several of the flowering trees are in bloom.
Fresno County started publicizing the Blossom Trail this week. It would be great to take a drive this weekend to see the blossoms and grab an ice cream cone. ;^)
Does it sound like I’m ready for spring?
Have a Terrific Thursday, I need to meander over to Amy’s.
Think we all have ‘spring fever’ now.
Will try to see ya at “your place” later today!!
Oh, dita, thanks for posting that picture of the baby hummers. (I know you said they aren’t pictures of ‘our’ babies, but I can imagine them better now - I’ve never seen a hummingbird nest either!
