My direct ancestors spent from approximately 1758-1948 in what became NW West Virginia. There's the usual mix of average, to high achievers to ne'er do wells in the family.

Many have moved on to other areas but there continues a great love for this great state of West Virginia. There is a reverence for one's roots and what forged the family's character when we get together and swap tales passed down through the generations.

Give me West Virginia any day over any of our urban paradises.

I will put up with the stereotypes if it keeps all the jag-offs, I mean educated folks, from NY, CA, MA, etc. from our beautiful state of West, by God, Virginia.

Ours is the kindest, safest and friendliest state in the union.

I can look out my bedroom window in the morning and see wild turkeys and whitetail deer.

Its a wonderful place to live, and I can understand how people get pissed off about constantly having to face out of state idiots who don’t have the slightest idea what the hell they are talking about. They just assume we are all inbred idiots who stalk campers and travellers.

And yet, if I ran an ad wanting to make a movie about hip hopper drug dealers with sixteen children from just as many different men, I’d be condemned by everyone.

Go figure...strange world we live in.
