Unfortunately, the termites of liberalism have so destroyed our education system that those who expose it for the destruction it is, are tarred and feathered, and run out of town from the thunder of ignorant ridicule.
Yes. My neighbor (I'll call him Vole Killer) uses a product called (he thinks) Gopher Gasser, which you can find at Home Depot. He says it comes in white packs of five sticks, and it looks like small sticks of dynamite.
To use it, VK uses a trowel to dig down into a tunnel about wrist deep--the point is to make sure you're down into the tunnel complex where the air will circulate the poison. He lights a stick and pushes it down in the hole, and then uses a dixie cup to seal the opening (not dirt, or it could put out the flame). The gas will circulate through the complex and kill the voles. VK says sometimes if it's a small complex you'll see gas coming out of another hole or two nearby, and you should then cap those with dixie cups, too.
VK is going to perform this operation in my yard this afternoon. He said the sooner the better, because the little rats multiply rapidly. Good luck!

I agree and would like to add: When we turn from personal responsibility and decide to demand the government take responsibility for our lives, conservatism dies.
We conserve the principle, that this country is founded on, that the individual has infinite worth, and inalienable god-given rights; and that the state should only exist to preserve and protect those rights, being a necessary evil to do so.
We conserve the ideas, principles, and institutions of the American Revolution, for which purpose this country was created for. It was not created to become just another ossified, decaying copying of Old Europe. It was not created to create a State that holds the individual in thrall and bondage, and it will be the greatest tragedy in human history if the Bolshevik Left among succeed in turning this country into such a hell hole. The rest of the Earth is abundant with such tyranny. A curse upon the generations that came before us for the last 100 years (beginning with the Wilsonian Progessive Movement) who allowed such tyranny to gain root in this shining city on a hill. ---ME
Your post has me ROFL! If your neighbor uses those Gopher Gassers, he will be surr-prazzed.
Mr.FF used them many years ago when we had a gopher who decided he wanted to live right next to our driveway, under the garage window. He tried everything, including the Gopher Gassers one night. Next morning, there was dirt ALL OVER THE PLACE and a huge mess. That was one pissed off gopher.
After many Elmer Fudd moments, Mr.FF found what the critters really hate is grass clippings. Seems like they really detest the smell and will go elsewhere.
