CANTON -- The jurors deciding the fate of Bobby Cutts Jr. have spared the former Canton police officer's life. The jury instead recommended he receive life in prison without parole rather than the death penalty for the murder of his pregnant girlfriend, Jessie Davis, last summer.

Breakdown of sentencing for Bobby Cutts Jr.

Cutts was found guilty on a total of seven charges. Below are the charges with the sentence received on each count in ():

Murder--for the death of Jessie Davis (15 years)

Aggravated murder--for the unlawful termination of Jessie Davis' pregnancy. (Life in prison without parole for 30 years)

Aggravated murder--for the death of baby Chloe. Ohio law provides for such charges involving a viable unborn child or a victim involving a child younger than 13. (Life in prison without parole for 30 years)

Aggravated burglary--for trespassing into Jessie Davis' home in order to commit the attack.(10 years)

Gross abuse of a corpse--(2 counts) for the treatment of Jessie Davis' body and her unborn daughter's following their deaths (2 years, 1 year on each count)

Child endangering--for leaving the couple's young son, Blake, home alone in his mother's home after the murder. (6 months)

The sentence collectively works out to a total of 57 years behind bars without parole. Cutts is currently 30 years old.

Cutts only faced the possibility of the death penalty in connection with the convictions on the two aggravated murder charges, involving the death of his unborn daughter, Chloe. In the end the jurors chose to recommend life in prison without the possibility of parole for 30 years rather than the death penalty.

The judge sentenced Cutts immediately following the jury's recommendation.

But before imposing the sentence, the court heard from members of Cutts' defense team, the prosecutor and members of Davis' family.

Our house was on Tiki Island, just south and west of the causeway. I never heard where he dumped the body parts in the water. I’d be curious where Durst lives now. Hopefully not near me or you. LOL!

Well, I was just a veritable font of misinformation, lol. Lawyer was Dick DeGuerin (the “ue” brother). First wife, Kathleen, disappeared and has never been found - that’s who he is suspected of killing.

Her best friend was Susan Berman, the writer who was later killed assassin-style with a bullet to the back of the head, while at home. She was about to go to cops with some info she had developed on Kathleen’s disappearance - and she had been Durst’s buddy all that while. Could be the info was on him.

It was a witness in the Galveston trial who found Durst in her front yard one day when he was not supposed to ever set foot on the Island, under his parole terms.

Just the quick google showed him last October, 2007, shopping for a new condo on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, but no word on if he moved there.

Fuuny, because I *almost* said Tiki might have been the only place they could’ve floated - but that’s still pretty far.

He lived in some flophouse near downtown and this wasn’t too far from there. Seems like a friend of mine and I went and checked it out back then while on a trip to the Strand to shop.

(I am a shut-in now, but I think I read that my favorite little offbeat shop had closed - Hendley Market - do you know?)
