If i heard and read this right, he used the phrase “lynching party” in reference on whether or not to attack/unload on Mrs. Obama.
Well, he may not be a racist, I have no idea, but he sure showed poor judgment.
She’s black. Lynching has an undeniable racial connotation in our country.
He probably wasn’t thinking when he said it, and didn’t mean anything bad by it, but, it’s not unreasonable for someone to point out he was being insensitive or careless in his language.
Apologize or not, his choice, but bottom line is, he said a dumb thing.
Were blacks the only to people to ever be lynched?
Blacks are getting to be a lot like the Muzzies in that they live in a constant state of outrage.
You don't remember those old western movies from the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s including some Clint Eastwood classics? You didn't go to the movies back then? or watch them on TV in the 1960s and 1970s?
I can absolutely say that unless lynching was mentioned in the context of the south my thoughts were of those western movies and "justice" for horse thieves; stealing a man's horse was probably the worst of the crimes.
What you’re saying is total bs! Basically, every white must carefully pick and chose their words before speaking to a black? Is that what you’re saying? I have to abdicate my vocabulary to please people? This reminds me of years ago when a college student told a bunch of black women to quiet their music, refering to them as buffalo’s. They cried racism because the term refered to Africa or some such nonsense. And the white student was reprimanded.
People need to get over it. The term "to get lynched" has often been used in non-racial connotations.
At work, when we negotiate an especially good agreement with a vendor, we say we "lynched" them (and once in awhile, they "lynch" us).
People like Jones who are always looking for reasons to be offended disgust me.
Not in my world.
If you want to do that sort of thing, black shoe polish should be banned, as well as the color black, since the word translates as "negro".
Frankly, I am very tired of this crappola.
