If i heard and read this right, he used the phrase “lynching party” in reference on whether or not to attack/unload on Mrs. Obama.

Well, he may not be a racist, I have no idea, but he sure showed poor judgment.

She’s black. Lynching has an undeniable racial connotation in our country.

He probably wasn’t thinking when he said it, and didn’t mean anything bad by it, but, it’s not unreasonable for someone to point out he was being insensitive or careless in his language.

Apologize or not, his choice, but bottom line is, he said a dumb thing.

No, it was not...the word has been used against whites, and Clarence Thomas used the term on himself “high tech lynching.” So no, it was not a dumb term and former fatso Starr Jones needs to STFU.

Lynching has an undeniable racial connotation in our country.

My first acquaintance with the word "lynch" was 1950's cowboy movies in which the victim was usually a cattle rustler, another cowboy.

This is just another example of the left trying to hijack the language and control what can or cannot be said and create a class of victims in the process.

I've lived in the East, Southwest, West ... and until this Jenna nonsense I had no idea that 'lynching' was copyright protected by one Group of citizenry. I always took it as a 'cowboy' thing. Vigilante 'justice' (of the Oxbow Incident variety).
Burning crosses - sure.
Men dressed in their finest white sheets (a la' Mr. Byrd) - sure.
But seeing racial overtones in the use of the word 'lynch', or the use of nooses -- is absurd...

Maybe to ignorant people lynch party has a racial connotation. However lots of white people got lynched too and some of them actually deserved it.

When the time comes that we are ever required to be “sensitive” or “careful” in our language, America will be gone. Only despots would be niggardly about freedom of speech.

That’s what blacks want whites to do: apologize. Then after we do, they want more and more. I say NEVER APOLOGIZE to these race pimps. They never apologize to us, why should we to them?

Oh come now, I am getting angry to the point of disgust about these Black people taking offense at any thing that can remotely be considered as offensive to them.

I can't stand Bill O'Reilly but Black people don't have a copywright on lynching. Many Whites, Indians, Chinese etc. have also been lynched. Most of them probably had it coming.

These Black leaders just go around with a lantern like Diogenes but instead of an honest man, they are looking for something to use against Whitey. The funny thing is most Whiteys are so afraid of saying anything that might be even in the most remote way, racist that they go around praising Blacks constantly jsut to prove they aren't racist.

The real racists are the ones using their race for personal gain.

To be honest, anyone who uses the word racist,a word that was not in most dictionaries until the Sixties, is suspect....and this includes BOR.

If you buy into that - you're part of the problem.

Every day, they add another word of phrase that a white person must not say - there's no end to it if we bow down to it.

Remember the man that got fired from his job by just using the word 'niggardly' - and in a conversation having absolutely nothing to do with anyone of color...or any person at all -

NIGGARDLY: 1. reluctant to give or spend; stingy; miserly. 2. meanly or ungenerously small or scanty: a niggardly tip to a waiter.

But the man was force out of his livelihood because someone was too ignorant to know what the word means.

If we allow this to continue, YOU TOO could get caught in the web.

When I was growing up the term "lynching party" was when the towensfolk were going to break into the jail and hang the accused prisoners with out benifit if a trial. There was no racial connotation to it at all.

Strange isnt it? I’m a Brit and the phraseology he uses has no such connotation to me. It sounds like a perfectly reasonable comment and, in fact, a voice of moderation against jumping to conclusions about Michelle Obama.

...She’s black. Lynching has an undeniable racial connotation in our country.

The word also has another connotations --- its defined meaning. Because blacks have ascribed a negative connotation to it are we to quit using the word? Truthfully, it probably wasn't a good thing to say "on-air," but who the hell is Star Jones to be the "forbidden word Nazi?" She's black? That sounds to me like we have a protected class in this country to whom all must answer. It wasn't the fact that he used "lynching" it was the fact that he was saying something, potentially bad, about Mrs. Obama and "Star" was too stupid to stop and do what she should have done -- think a little.

Pure rubbish. Just because it has a racial connotation amongst racists doesn't mean none racists have to be subjecated to their every whim.

What a disgusting, desperate, flailing attempt to paint an entire race as ***victims***, so incapable of standing on their own two feet that they actualy identify a method of murder or vigilante justice that has happened to EVERY RACE KNOWN TO MAN with the color of their own skin.

Who would want to think so low of their race that they'd want to slap that label on 'em?

I refuse to be manipulated by race baiting skin pimps, and so should BOR.

Spades, beans, grease, kraut, whitebread among many, many other words can have racial connotations. Should everyone avoid all those words?

O'Reilly was defending Mrs Obama. This is an example of political correctness insanity.

"White man with a microphone"?? That's not racist and that's the race police. Obama will get creamed, if he uses this kind of cr*pola during the rest of the campaign.

Actually Bill O’Reilly is the vicitm of a lynching party.

Repressive regimes everywhere suppress free speech. The Black Klan has been on a lynching party against whites for the last forty years.

Did you know that a lot of white people were lynched? Cattle rustlers and horse thieves. They were almost all white.

The reason Bill O’Reilly is being attacked is to suppress all criticism of O’Bama Hussein. That is the real issue here. Bill O’Reilly and all who may criticise O’Bama must be suppressed and made an example of. This is racist and fascist. That is the real issue.

Horse sh!t This is just another ploy to suck up the very last drop of imaginary victimhood for the "See how we be mistreated?" "poor oppressed black" Michelle Obama as the wife of a corrupt politician from the Daley democratic political machine is hardly oppressed. In fact I wonder how long it's been since she and her husband received so much as a cent that honestly earned and not sucked out of taxpayers someplace or arranged as a "loan" from some political deal?

Lynching has an undeniable racial connotation in our country.

As a member of the race of white men who were lynched for rustling cattle, I am deeply offended. Especially when I think of my dear Father who died only seven years ago; and although he never experienced lynching himself, I am sure that he heard about it.

This is utter crap. We are now to the point that we can not use a whole host of words in any paragraph, sentence or opinion if the context of that compilation of words refers to a black person.

translation: There is no substance to argue so I will call you a racist and thats easy to make stick.

America is lost without its right of free speech and free speech is currently curtailed under the auspices of “hate” crimes legislation and “politically correct” speech.

Walk by a group on many campuses or even in many towns and say “”hello Guys” and several lefties will spit then venom as to how you are sexist.

We will soon not be able to say the words “Black man/woman” in our conversation because we are white.
