I don't want to change the subject but what does that say about our society?

“” For the first time in history, more than one in every 100 American adults is in jail or prison,...”
I don’t want to change the subject but what does that say about our society?”
It tells me two things....1) there is a noticeable correlation between moral degradation and rising prison population and 2) we actually punish our criminals, for the most part.
We aren’t working hard enough to put more of them in there. Let’s start, for example, on Wall Street.
The people are sick of crime, and placing these criminals in jail. Where they belong.
It could be saying...we are sending some wrong folks to jail. ( i.e. Some relatively minor drug offenses..in some states...get out of proportion jail sentences..)
It could be saying.....liberal policies are failing.
I have a small solution. Hang, shoot, electrocute, the one's that we know, that we know, that we know...did the murder, rape, torture. That right there would clear out some room...in the prisons.

“what does that say about our society?”
it says we’re losing the war against our own government, where probably every single person breaks at least one law per day, and ignorance of the law is now excuse.
not to change the subject or anything, but what does that say about our government ?
