Have you not heard?

Freepers poo-poo on the pro-life cause!

The one candidate promoting a constitutional amendment to ban abortion has had all manner of false and dishonest character-assasinating accusations leveled against his conservative credentials.

Governor Mike Huckabee is in favor of a constitutional amendment to ban abortion!

I voted for huckabee not because he supports an amendment that may never pass and he will never get to sign. I voted for him because abortion actually went down significantly in his state when he was governor.

http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/sfaa/arkansas.html

In 2005, 4,710 women obtained abortions in Arkansas, producing a rate of 8.3 abortions per 1,000 women of reproductive age. Some of these women were from other states, and some Arkansas residents had abortions in other states, so this rate may not reflect the abortion rate of state residents. The rate declined 15% since 2000, when it was 9.8 abortions per 1,000 women 15-44.
In 2005, there were 3 abortion providers in Arkansas. This represents a 57% decrease from 2000, when there were 7 abortion providers.
