Missoula, Mont. (AP) A federal judge has decided not to hold Agriculture Secretary Mark Rey in contempt over court orders requiring the U.S. Forest Service to study the environmental effects of a chemical fire retardant.
Can someone translate? Too many double negatives for me.
Nominee for the worst partial headline in Breaking News.
translation: Federal Court bending to pressure from enviro nut groups orders dept of agriculture to fund study agreeing with nut groups. when the dept agriculture has more pressing problems to handle, the judge decides that the ag secys delay is not bad enough to hold him in contempt
I was thinking... what exactly has he decided not to hold?
(Remember this story?)
IOW, the enviro-whackos wanted the forest service to investigate the effects of a fire retardant, they might use to put out fires, on the environment. Let the trees burn, but don’t harm the environment...............Judge says NO..........
Why do taxpayers continue to put up with crap like this?
It is going to get even worse soon.
ELF , ALF, and friends will soon file endless wolf lawsuits...
The no new roads stuff will explode with lawsuits as fire fighters will need access for their safety and effectiveness.
Forest fires will soon consume many extra millions of acres with the resulting air and water pollution, soil destruction...and tax payer dollars.
I was actually more concerned with the idea of “Forest Service Employees for Environmental Ethics” filing suit against their employer, the Forest Service — shielded, of course, by the fact that it’s almost impossible to fire a federal employee, even if it is determined their suit is a nuisance. It’s just more of this “I hate my country, but I sure get a nice paycheck from it” crap. It’s got to stop.
Much of the data that is used is flawed, much like the global warming disputes. A good example is in this piece.
Edward Little, a biologist with the U.S. Geological Survey, testified that more than 25 years of laboratory and field research indicates that aerial retardant has a negligible toxic effect on fish, amphibians, insects, plants, mammals and birds.
The Forest Service several years ago stopped using the one chemical in retardant that was toxic to aquatic and other species, he said.
This judge and the enviro wackos ignore research from scientists like this.
So is the judge saying to fight the fires like always ?
Or is the judge a wacko?
As an aside, there are a few FReepers in the GREAT state of Montana who think Max Baucus is doing a good job in D.C. because he is stopping mining in this TREASURE state.
Normal these Eco-cult hate man and even stopping forest fires is bad for the eco-system according to the nuts. When will the American people wake up and stop donating to these Mafia of the green movement.
You are confusing me.
Tell me about Max Baucus.
It doesn’t need to be a giant essay and are you against small time hobbie gold miners ?
PS
I thought we were talking about poaching.
