Wexler: Obama might not mean Ahmadinejad
Barack Obama does not necessarily have in mind Mahmoud Ahmadinejad when he says he will meet with Iran's leaders, a top Jewish proxy says.
"Ahmadinejad may not be the one to meet with," U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler, the top Jewish surrogate for the contender for the Democratic presidential nomination, told JTA in a recent interview. "He is not the person that ultimately controls power in Iran."
In debates, the U.S. senator for Illinois has said he will meet with the leaders of rogue nations such as Iran, North Korea, Syria, Cuba and Venezuela in his first year in office, a repudiation of what Obama says is the failed Bush administration policy of isolating such regimes.
Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, has gone beyond his predecessors' anti-Israel hostility, denying the Holocaust, suggesting Jewish control of the West and wishing Israel did not exist.
Wexler told JTA that Obama would meet with Iranian leaders as a means of reducing its threat to Israel. "The only reason to meet with Iranian leaders is the cessation of uranium enrichment and financing terrorism," he said. "You deal with those power structures that can implement a negotiated agreement."
In an interview on NBC's Meet the Press in November, Obama suggested that he would meet with Ahmadinejad, but as a means of sending a signal to others in Iran, including the theocracy that props up the presidency.
"Look," Obama said, "part of the reason its important for us to talk to countries we dont like and leaders we dont like, it's not that I think that in a conversation with somebody like Ahmadinejad that Im going to somehow change his mind on everything, but what we do is, we send a signal to other leadership in Iran, to the Iranian people and to the world community that we are listening and that we are willing to try to resolve conflicts peacefully."
yeah they can talk Mullah to Mullah.
That Wexler is such an a$$.
Turn, Turn, Turn
He didn’t mean what he seemed to say. He might mean, you know, like something else less offensive to voters.
I don’t want to meet with the mullahs. I want them to go to their reward.
Obama rubs shoulders with islamic fundamental candidates in Kenya, with domestic terrorists here (the weatherman bomber), and wants to expand that shoulder rubbing as president with our other enemies. In addition, on the issues, he spouts the most abject, fundmanetal marxist positions. IMHO, he is an enemy to this Republic and all it was founded upon.
If Herr Hitler was still around, Obama-nation would be happy to meet with him, too.
No kidding.
Have you watched this? Obama’s disarmament agenda.....

This part is actually true, but you wouldn't know it from the dumb polemics against him. He doesn't even have the authority to launch a war. Ahmadinejad might leave office soon.
I would like to have a Jewish surrogate of my own to help me with the “tough” questions in my daily life. How does one go about obtaining one?
Oh, brilliant, I can see it now, President Barack Hussein Obama, the first apostate from Islam to be elected head of state of a Western democracy visits Iran and the negotiations with Khamenei consist of Khamenei issuing an ultimatum to repent of his apostacy or die.
Wexler: “Um, he didn’t mean what he said. What he really meant was...”
Vichy-America with Marshall Obama as chief of state.
It's an attitude of defiance of authority that comes straight from his mother, that comes straight from 60s politics.
Maybe NObama will send Wexler and that little turd Weiner over to negotiate with the islamofascists-they should go see bin laden while they’re at it.
Crap! Obama means Ahmadinejad? I thought having “Hussein” in his name was bad enough, but that’s just ridiculous. He might as well change his name to Castro or Stalin or Hitler or something.
Nice to have Wexler’s impressions of what Obama “might” do.
That sure clears things up.
