Capitalism. Pure and simple. The best product at the best price wins. This should make American companies rethink their strategy, lose the unions and get domestic suppliers. When they do, they’ll win the contracts. What no one is looking at is how a foreign company can procure, assemble and deliver these products to the US cheaper than we could do it here at home where transportation costs would be mitigated. That should be a real story, but alas no one wants to talk about the unions and the leeching they do. IMO

Yea, EXCEPT, Airbus and EADS are the MOST unionized, inefficient outfit on earth. The sheer fact the thing still exists is a testament to EU’s commitment to socialist welfare jobs programs. Hell they had 2 CEOs, one French one German, to ensure that noone would EVER be laid off in either country. I mean, c’mon. How in the heck could they outbid Boeing, unless the EU will be subsidizing them in effect paying for a share of our equipment.

From what I've read, the Boeing tanker was $35 million a copy cheaper, but the Airbus handles more fuel or cargo depending on configuration.

Pure capitalism is no more successful than pure communism. the cheapness of a product should not be the only criteria in any business deal.

Also, two weeks ago General Motors began hiring new workers at $14.00 per hour and no benefits. Also, a parts plant went on strike when their company insisted on 65 % pay cuts last week. I know this because the Janesville GM plant may not run this week because there will be no parts. The union is beaten-God help us. Who will pay for the unemployment, health benefits etc for the newly poor I wonder-of course the American tax payer.

American companies will be driven our of business. By the way GM is paying $14.00 and hour with no benefits to new hires. Also, American Axle just settled a strike where they tried to make existing workers take a 65% pay cut...new hire will receive the same as GM workers. This is not good for the country. American companies are on the ropes and their government as usual gives them the shaft-typical.
