Very disturbing. My first impulse is to say Americans will never go for this. The ad is extremely weird, cultishly un-American. There's a worshipfulness to all the comments that is unsettling. Americans as a whole have always rejected this kind of swooning appeal enmasse. Could there be something new afoot this time? If the traditional impulses and reactions are still there, Obama should be unelectable. Obama's supporters may be just weird enough to chase people toward McVain. We'll see.

I still think Obama represents "scary change," whereas McCain--in the minds of many voters--represents change within their comfort zone. And I think Obama's positions on life, the military, and America in general (especially the wife's) will scare enough people into the McCain column.

I have decided that I cannot in good conscience entrust the guys in the military to a Pres Obama. I can't do it. The guys in the military deserve better. I can't sit out and let Obama ascend to CIC. It's too immoral and so I will be voting for McCain.

I’m with you. I am voting McCain. This is sick. Beyond the pale. I’ll be darned if I will sit by and let my beautiful country be turned over to these THINGS.
