It was farm land, that is why they paid so much- they should have used bare desert. I would be happier and they would have saved money.

It was farm land, that is why they paid so much- they should have used bare desert. I would be happier and they would have saved moneyI suspect there was an incentive somewhere in the deal to retire irrigated farmland, thus freeing scarce water resources for residential purposes.

Appreciated. If they are building on farmland, then agree with you that they should have used desert. Arizona has plenty of open land that would great for the location of a solar plant.
