So, 2007’s “hot” weather was due to an El Nino/Southern Oscillation? First I’ve read about any ENSO in 2006-2007.

Funny. When it was hot, they were claiming that 2007 was hot because of global warming.

But now that 2007-2008 is so very cold (and has wiped out a century of global warming in one year) - THAT is due to La Nina and can be ignored .....
