"Look at this 35000 listings never sold anything these look funny to me. Let me know what you think check this out. 320199384960 "
(Excerpt) Read more at forums.ebay.com ...
They claim to have found:
- thousands of items with similar seller IDs (SDC_PROD_xxxxxx)
- items which do not have bid buttons
- items which change to different seller names when seller's feedback is checked
- said listings tucked away in the last page of item category
- items listed in the wrong categories (seemingly randomly)
- items which were suddenly removed after the thread got started
- other irregularities
The above is synopsis, the thread is over 1000 posts and counting. A lot of people were copying listing pages as 'evidence' even as the pages were being pulled. Might be a tempest in a teapot but the folks over there are pretty worked up about it.
This listing (320199384960) has been removed or is no longer available.
Got another?
You proclaim it so clearly comrade.
However, keeping and growing the listing numbers artificially within the company is problematic because those listing numbers are used as a sign of the company's performance (apart from actual revenues) and can be used by management to artificially boost the company's stock price.
Alternatively, these listing could be created by a third party looking to put the company's stock or to prevent themselves from losing their shirts over a previous put and have found some way to manipulate the system, show the firm is not being impacted by the boycott, and keep the share prices up. Few companies can have the perception of their prospects manipulated by outsiders so much.
What boycott?
I would hope this is real.
Ebay lost my business when:
They banned all firearms related merchandise.
- and -
Cancelled my listing because they didn’t like that I wanted to charge a fee for Paypal byers.
Of course they are. Newspapers across the country do the same thing with classified listings...
Too, too true. Bunch of whiners.
200203124613 is interesting.
The seller ID is different on eBay and eBayExpress.
The bid/buy buttons are not available on main site,
and seller ID is altered on main.
eBay is running some unannounced tests,
are faking traffic, or have serious server problems.
I was annoyed to find that they’d raised their rates several times since i’d last used them. THat’s their business. What annoys me is how they’re touting “New Lower Insertion fees!”. A nickel for you upfront and they get a few more dollars from the back end. IT’s like a Democratic tax plan.
All I know is my crap ain’t sellin. What’s a girl gotta do to make a livin nowadays?
Do you buy or sell on ebay? I do and have no interest in continuing if they are proven to be dishonest.
I vote for Barack Huggies Obama.
