Are Obama Supporters Crossing the Line in Getting Superdelegates to Leave the Clinton Camp?
Fox News ^ | February 29, 2008 | Brit Hume

Some African-American superdelegates who support Hillary Clinton are reporting threats and intimidation from people wanting them to switch to Barack Obama.

Pressure on black superdelegates has intensified since civil rights icon John Lewis switched his allegiance from Clinton to Obama earlier this week.

Missouri Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II tells The Politico some superdelegates are receiving what he called nasty letters and phone calls, along with threats that they'll now be opposed by other Democrats in reelection bids. Cleaver says some even report being called an "Uncle Tom." Adding — "This is the politics of the 1950's. A lot of members are experiencing a lot of ugly stuff. They're not going to talk about it, but it's happening."

California Congresswoman Diane Watson reports she also has received threatening mail — but says she would rather lose her seat than violate her principles. She says she cannot switch her vote simply because Obama is black.

Democracy in action; I wonder if these superdelegates will expect American troops to protect the voting booths when the delegates walk in to get their thumbs painted blue...

If this keeps up, expect John Kerry to apply for another Purple Heart after he casts his delegate vote.

I think this exemplifies the level to which the Demonrats have sunk.

But...but... wasn’t Hilarity’s strategy based on strong-arming the super delegates?

If one has been properly vaccinated and dons the appropriate hazmat suit,it is fun to cruise the Dummy site to pick up on the divisiveness among the camps of her Thighness and the Black Velvet.

It would be fun to see the Democrats implode, but if Hillary fails in Ohio or Texas, she will exit gracefully (at least publicly) as he funds will disappear.

Mr Congeniality showing his ugly side. I cannot believe Im saying this but I actually have felt SORRY for Hillary at times during this campaign.

Now that we are beginning to know the Obama’s I like them even less. Michelle Obamas comments, “the first time she felt proud in her adult life.” As if she is some poor, pitiful, homeless black. She went to Princeton and Harvard for gosh sakes.

There is likely no proof of any of this nonsense.

They haven't sunk at all. They are where they have been since the 1930's. They are and always have been unreconstructed thugs.

“But...but... wasn’t Hilarity’s strategy based on strong-arming the super delegates?”

Strong-arming... or bribing.

Depending on how far the money stretched.

Just how many superdelegates are there who are ‘black’?

Is Mayor Cleaver one?

Was he run over by a sprinting stampede of black superdelegates?

Not me. I a savoring every minute of her seeming demise. She's been a blight on this country for a very long time.

I read an article about her in the WSJ long before bill was a serious candidate for POTUS. She made the hair on the back of my neck up even then.

I want to see her totally eliminated as a candidate. THEN we can deal with obama.

Even though I don't like the thought of mclame in the WH, obama will be easier to beat.

It took me a while to figure it out; but with obama being even futher left than hillary!, mclame will be able to highlight the difference even more than against the evil witch.

I was not asking you to do my work. The questions were to generate thought in others. I know you are busy.

So...
The 2008 Democratic National Convention will have approximately 794 superdelegates

At the 2008 Democratic National Convention the superdelegates will make up approximately one-fifth of the total number of delegates.

The Politico found that about half of the superdelegates are white men, compared to 28% of the Democratic primary electorate.

the superdelegates are not selected based on the party primaries and caucuses in each U.S. state. Instead, the superdelegates are seated automatically, based solely on their status as current or former elected officeholders and party officials. They are free to support any candidate for the nomination.
...There is an exception, however, for otherwise qualified individuals who endorse another party’s candidate for President; they lose their superdelegate status.

superdelegates are generally chosen without regard to their preferences in the presidential race and are not obligated to support the candidate chosen by the voters.

Each of the superdelegates’ votes is now equivalent to about 10,000 Democratic voters.

The Democratic Party rules do not use the term “superdelegate” ...The Republican Party also seats some party officials as delegates without regard to primary or caucus results, but the term “superdelegate” is most commonly applied only in the Democratic Party.

In other words, DemocRat party officials believe in affirmative action for everyone but themselves...

am saving this for my next run-in with my rabid green party neighbor.

Diane Watson sounds like a surprisingly smart woman.

I will repeat: To vote for someone BECAUSE he is black is just as wrong as NOT voting for someone because he is black.

‘...along with threats that they’ll now be opposed by other Democrats in reelection bids.’

Apparently the mere possibility of facing primary opposition is considered a ‘threat’ by Democrats and the MSM is following their usage. Wanna bet soon the Democrats/MSM will apply the label ‘threat’ to any opposition to an incumbent Democrat in an election?

If seeing how the MSM changed the meaning of words to cater to the illegal alien/open borders lobby doesn’t frighten you, try re-reading 1984 (or just it’s brilliant appendix ‘The Principles of Newspeak’).

"wasn’t Hilarity’s strategy based on strong-arming the super delegates?"

Your one of the only ones that have ever brought this up. Thank you. Yes, they were already bought and paid for.

I find this....hmmmm...what is the word?......EXCITING .....because the Democrats are destroying their own party. Pass the popcorn please.
