Huckabee visits Mexican border (Saturday CNN story)
CNN ^ | March 1, 2008 | Alexander Marquardt

Posted on 03/02/2008 8:07:15 PM PST by Kurt Evans

LAREDO, Texas (CNN) – Saturday morning, Mike Huckabee took a trip to the border he talks about securing at every campaign stop...

[snip]

Huckabee, a strong proponent of building a fence along the Southern border, told reporters that it was not about keeping people out, but keeping bad people out. He gave examples of drug and human traffickers as well as terrorists.

“I don’t resent that people want to come here. I’ve always said I thank God every day I’m in a country people are trying to break into, not in a country they’re trying to break out of,” said Huckabee, flanked by Chuck Norris and Rep. Duncan Hunter who has built a fence in his Southern California district.

As the former Arkansas governor tries to drum up support among conservatives just days before the Texas primary, illegal immigration is one of the issues Huckabee has repeatedly used to differentiate himself from frontrunner John McCain.

He almost never mentions McCain by name but in Lubbock on Friday, Huckabee said he’s the only candidate who believes the borders should be secured, as opposed to “wholesale amnesty.” ...

“If you parse Huckabee’s words, its still just ******** and denies the severity and essence of the problem of our country being taken over by balkanization due to this open border which let PEOPLE across.”

Nothing in Governor Huckabee’s words above denies the problem of balkanization—a problem we can control once we know who’s completed citizenship classes and who hasn’t.

Yes. Very serious. Or vey series, as the case may be.

Both Ecuador and Venezuela are getting mobilized for a possible joint strike on Colombia, because the US backed Colombian government, under their President Uribe, went into Ecuador a few days ago and killed a top communist, pro-Venezulea/Ecuador terrorist leader of the leftist FARC guerrilla group who had been getting sanctuary on Ecuadorian soil, and who also is now shown to have had ties to Ecuador's leftist leadership. Now things are moving fast.

Compare Huckabee with McCain:

MC CAIN:

Senator McCain supports human embyronic stem cell research, and according to the late Henry Hyde wanted to weaken the pro-life plank in the GOP platform.

McCain supported the ICC (where the International Criminal Court would be judging Americans).

He also was part of the gang of 14, which has stopped President Bush’s judicial nominess for circuit courts, etc. from going to the floor for an up or down vote.

I heard a couple of McCain’s colleagues say on the radio that he went against the leadership, when the Republicans had the majority, including the culture issues.

McCain voted AGAINST drilling in ANWR, which tells me that he won’t support drilling ANYWHERE in our OIL-RICH COUNTRY. MEANWHILE, China is drilling offshore of Florida.

John McCain is also the senator that liberal Democrats come to when they want a senator from the Republican side of the aisle. For instance: McCain/Feingold (limits free speech); McCain/Kennedy (amnesty); McCain/Lieberman (50 cents per gallon gas tax increase).

Senator McCain’s pro-illegal immigration stance would hurt our national security, as border security is national security. Known terrorists have been caught crossing our borders.

HUCKABEE:

Duncan Hunter was the most conservative, but he dropped out and ENDORSED Huckabee.

Minuteman Gilchrist, Weyrich, and other great conservatives, also endorsed Huckabee.

No one is better than Huckabee on protecting our 2nd amendent rights.

And Huckabee is truly pro-life, and is AGAINST human embryonic stem cell research (unlike McCain).

Huckabee understands the Red China threats.

While not perfect, Huckabee is far better than McCain, Hillary or Obama!

==

HUCKABEE has a point. Wish folks were buying Made in U.S.A. stuff, so there would be U.S.A. jobs.

“One of the concerns that I have is that we’ll probably end up

borrowing this $150 billion from the Chinese and when we get those

rebate checks, most people are going to go out and buy stuff that’s

been imported from China.”

“Only the slick words are designed in the November-December 2007 time frame by his aides to confuse and fool.”

The link below is to video from a debate last September. Governor Huckabee’s answer at about 31:55 proves that what you’ve said above isn’t true:

“Mike who?”

You call yourself a Christian, but you don’t act like one.

“Thank you Kurt for your input.”

*lol*

You still ought to apologize for the false accusation in post #16, but #33 is definitely much more Christlike.
