No gun shops within 5 miles of schools should be nearly impossible. Guess we better outlaw schools.

My kids would vote with you on that! Ah, but they can’t vote. They were born in this country.

With the 5 mile ban, only students who can drive will be a threat.

Indeed. Can you go five miles anywhere, expect way out in the sticks, and not find a school?

So if the gun shop has been there for 50 years and they want to add a school that is within the 5 mile circle, then, who gets to relocate??? That makes a pretty big “no store zone”. In many small towns, it couldn’t be implemented-—
Wait—that is exactly what the people who want to control every aspect of our lives wants, eh???

Maybe we should just outlaw politicians.

Even the 1000 feet under GFSA was rediculous. Between elementary, junior high, high schools, charters, parochial schools, etc., I’m sure at least 50-60% of my town of about 30 square miles is within 1000 feet of a school.

“Right to bear arms”, spelled out in the U.S. constitution in plain English. I’m still looking for the part about public schools. It must be on the same page as the right to abort your baby, directly following the social security clause.

As I assume is the case for just about everyone here, my husband and I figured out it would be impossible to have a gun shop in our small town if this was the rule. And that pertains to the schools only (not even counting the stupid park rule) because you cannot go more than 5 miles any way without leaving town.
