always said that everyone should be asked 5 questions about he candidates as the average voter is truely thick , just look at obama voters everyone of them I have seen interviewed or asked a question about rhe guy they are voting for

also maybe only tax payers should only vote or those elderly who have worked and not lived all their life on welfare or maybe raise the voting age to 21

of course the dems woiuld never get power if questions were asked

Originally only land owners, ministers, merchants, military officers, and other professionals were allowed to vote. Good idea then and now.

we as a country are lost if the likes of the Clintoons and the Husseins get the support they do...

look at your average person and you'll see the ignorance, the apathy, the silliness, the shallowness, the inability to READ anything beyond the Pop magazines....they think Oprah is a god and that Entertainment Tonite is the news...

if I walk into the booth and I think I am a clay pigeon, I head for the range to be a deer. No avoiding the hunter these days, it does appear....

You really think? Consider academics. Then think about a lot of truck drivers.

also maybe only tax payers should only vote or those elderly who have worked and not lived all their life on welfare or maybe raise the voting age to 21 Only people who pay more in taxes than they receive from the government should be allowed to vote.

Note that this would eliminate most government "workers," especially public school teachers, who regularly vote for candidates who will increase their pay and decrease the amount of work they have to do. It would eliminate most geezers who also vote mostly to transfer other taxpayers' money to themselves. It should always be up to the givers to decide how generous they want to be.

it’s a shame that the average voter is like that

most couldn’t tell you about what they have voted for yet they could tell you all about the latest gossip in hollywood.
Or there are those who vote just because that party/ person will give them more free things .

Look at a lot of college’s , many of these students are voting becaue they now think it;s the fashion for voting for obama

we have blacks voting because a black man is there
women voting just because she is a woman, i.e. my mother in law is like that
It really is pathetic that we have these kind of people voting .

questions should be asked before they are allowed to vote

for instance
who is for raising your taxes, is it a.b.c.d.
Who wants to reduce our military is it A,B,C,D
etc etc

If they get more than one wrong then they should not be allowed to vote until they can answer the questions correctly

we are not voting for a drinking pal or a rockstar but for the person who will run the country and protect us.

I would but we don't talk anymore besides she still wouldn't get it, the reason why she votes for the dems is because she loves the kennedys, she's from and lives in massachusetts and because she has always voted for them When I have asked her about issues she has no idea

Spot on article...the idiot vote is why we have so many Dems in office at the local (and national) level and why they are always re-elected.

That is true of you and me and of most on this forum. But, unfortunately, many voters do not think that way. To the vast majority of Rat voters, it’s like voting for American Idol. And they could explain much more about that show than they could about American government or history.

Looks as if he's clinched the nomination. Off off to drown my sorrows in a tall vodka-prune juice.

nail on the head regarding the American idol

I came to this country from England legally I might add and when I became American the legal way after years of trying I knew I could vote

So I looked at the parties and the reps and came to the conclusions that I have more in common with the republicans than I do with any other party.
I felt that it was only right that I did my research especially as I have 3 kids
It really shocks and saddens me that so many have no idea to what or whom they are voting for

Don’t get me started on how History is taught or the lack of it in shcools either

Glad you are here. Thank you for choosing the U.S.

Are you a fan, as I am, of Europe's conservative online news source, The Brussels Journal?
