LEST WE FORGET!

Fallout from Clinton pardons for FALN prompts reform measure, renewed debate

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Fallout from President Clinton’s controversial pardons of 16 members of a Puerto Rican nationalist group last summer prompted Republicans Tuesday to introduce a measure to reform the pardon process and require input from victims and their families.

At a Capitol Hill news conference, Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and Rep. Vito Fossella (R-New York) announced the introduction of a measure requiring the Office of Pardon Attorney in the Justice Department to notify victims or their families of key events in the clemency process and allowing them to voice their views. It would also require law enforcement agencies to provide information on the potential impact from a grant of clemency.

President Clinton was widely criticized after he granted clemency to the FALN members over the objections of law enforcement officials, and after the Justice Department consulted representatives of the FALN prisoners, but not the victims.

Illegals are attempting to make us feel guilty for our own laws. I’m getting tired of it. They can all leave and go to hell.

I’m with you!

I received a phone call from the NC GOP yesterday asking for a donation... I wanted to reach through the phone and grab the caller. I settled down and let the caller finish her spiel about needing money to defeat the Democrats in the upcoming general election... then I unloaded on her about the very same subject.

THE GOP HAS DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM.

Today I launched an email volley to the Chief of Staff of the NC GOP reiterating my total dissatifaction with the GOP with regard to illegal aliens, taxes (Fairtax), foreign dependency on oil, 14th Street Lobbyists, education, English as our National Language, etc, and their shear audacity in calling me for a donation. I recommend those of you who are equally dissatisfied with all that is wrong, email your respective State GOP Chiefs-of-Staff.

I’m waiting to see if he has the sack to respond to me.

I’m fed up!

I expect not long.

The Democrats have two weak candidates and whom does the GOP want to nominate? Crazy McCain. I listened to him speak and he sounds exhausted and looks tired.

IMO, McCain would prefer to have Hussein win over Hillary. One reason is the Clintons' FBI files. She has all kinds of info on him - but not much on Hussein because he is too young. And Hillary is much more devious that Hussein. For example, if the films of McCain exist that the Russians claim, she might make a secret deal with Putin.

He is exhausted and tired. And yet I have no sympathy for him. I just can’t. His behavior is just too disgusting and it’s only going to get worse as the campaign progresses. He might end up formally endorsing one of them.

He has shown that he has no problem with betraying those who trust him.

I cannot think of any significant positive trait about him. I am not saying he is the Manchurian Candidate, but he later wanted to get together with his former captors and his position on POW/MIA issues indicates he has no loyalty to our soldiers.

He probably already has in private. I can’t tell you how many vetrans I have talked to who have tried to get McCain’s help in dealing with the Vetrans Administration, with no response from McCain.

When all of the remaining major candidates for POTUS are for both amnesty for illegal immigrants and for keeping the U.S. borders open, what is everyone on the other side of these issues seriously supposed to do next? This is the question that seriously needs to be resolved prior to mid-January ‘09.

I’ve been wondering that for a while myself. Look at what is happening here. The American Legion, a service based organization, is now feeling compelled to enter into the political fray. No matter what the people want, a good 80% by every poll indicates securing the border and no amnesty, our elected officials just plain ignore us.

The A.L. deserves a great deal of respect for taking this strong stand. It won’t come without cost to them. Very gutsy and I pray that their leadership and example is followed by other organizations. It is going to take strong groups like this to band together to put the pressure on our government. Lord knows....Washington doen’t listen to us.

>>The Democrats have two weak candidates and whom does the GOP want to nominate? Crazy McCain.<<

I remember not too long ago that so many were predicting an easy victory for a GOP candidate because more than half the country hates Hillary. Now, even if Hillary wins the nomination, how does the GOP exploit that advantage?

Good to see this, I let my Legion membership lapse after I moved not too long ago. A good reason to get renewed.

I was at that rally, and noticed quite a few A.L. members present at the rally all day long. There were a bunch of little twelve year old radicals, kits of the code pink parents who would skateboard and try and knock them over, things like that.

They didn’t lose their cool, just in pure military discipline stood their, doing their job. I’m telling ya, I am getting a whole load of respect for these guys and their national organization as well. A bunch of people talk a good game, but it looks like the A.L. is walking the talk.

A 2.7 million member base united can accomplish quite a bit, and as far as I can tell....don’t have an agenda other that a better safer America. I am going to look at these guys a little differenty and maybe clap a little louder during parades.
