Obama's Oil For Food Connection
The American Thinker ^ | 3/06/2008 | Andrew Walden

Posted on 03/06/2008 5:14:29 AM PST by sono

Out on bail awaiting trial, dual US-Syrian citizen, Antoin ‘Tony' Rezko, was rousted out of bed by police pounding on the doors of his Chicago mansion the morning of Monday, January 28. According to the Associated Press:

"U.S. District Judge Amy J. St. Eve jailed Rezko...saying he had disobeyed her order to keep her posted on his financial status. Among other things, he failed to tell her about a $3.5 million loan from London-based Iraqi billionaire Nadhmi Auchi -- a loan that was later forgiven in exchange for shares in a prime slice of Chicago real estate. Rezko gave $700,000 of the money to his wife and used the rest to pay legal bills and funnel cash to various supporters."

Funds from Auchi's loan may have helped finance a complex series of transactions between Rezko and Democratic Presidential candidate Illinois Senator Barack Obama involving the 2005 purchase of Obama's Chicago mansion and Rezko's purchase of an adjoining landlocked parcel.

WOW! OUSTANDING article! Hooray Andrew Walden!

Seems like Tony is more than a “slum landlord”. What does that paragon of morality and virtue, the fork-tongued Hillary have to say?

Great post, sono. Thanks.

The Chicago Tribune yesterday called for Barak Obama to stop ducking questions about his relationship with Rezko in it’s lead editorial.

Freepers who were thinking of voting for the Witch in subsequent primaries ought to go for the Messiah. We need to keep them equal so the blood bath continues. Also, it would be a very good idea not to vote early because the correlation of forces keeps changing. I realize I urged Freepers to vote for the Witch in Texas and Ohio. She got enough oxygen from that to keep on going; now she needs to be starved so she doesn't get any more momentum.

He should give his mansion and land to Charity and call it a wash... Otherwise his tainted transaction should and will haunt him. Oh but I guess he will need a house after he gets trounced in the stealing of a primary by his rival Ms. Hitlery.

I understand your strategy. I wouldn’t vote for Hillary if you put a gun to my head. Compared to Billhilly, Barack and Michelle are (relatively...scandal-speaking) clean. Ridding the nation of Hillary as doug from upland has said, should be a Manhattan Project for FReepers.

Yes, no more O2 for her.

BARACK OBAMA

Murder-Minded 1960s Nostalgia Won’t Help War Opponents

And you thought the worst news of the day for Obama was going to be the news out of the Tony Rezko trial:

Rezko’s bleak financial picture raises the question of how the Rezkos were able to buy a vacant lot adjoining the home of Sen. Barack Obama in 2005, at a time Rezko says he was already in deep debt.

Rezko also reveals in the testimony, before Judge Amy St. Eve on Jan. 16, 2007, that he already knew he was under federal investigation at the time of the land purchase and had hired a criminal defense attorney to deal with the “feds.”

Obama says he sought Rezko’s help because the house he wanted to buy in Chicago’s Hyde Park came with an adjoining lot the seller wanted to sell at the same time.

Unable to afford it himself, Obama says Mrs. Rezko bought it for $625,000, and then later sold a strip of the lot back to Obama so he would have a larger yard. Obama says he paid Mrs. Rezko a fair market price.

According to the court transcript, Mrs. Rezko makes $37,500 a year.

No, I think that on a day some punk, high on 1960s nostalgia, tried to blow up military recruiters in Times Square... another act of terrorism, aiming to kill, in New York City... it’s going to be Obama’s ties to another man who tried to blow up sites like the Pentagon, and the U.S. Capitol, and military sites in the 1960s.

If Barack Obama’s interaction with William Ayers had been, “I think he’s a terrorist who ought to be behind bars, and I told the SOB that to his face,” we would have heard it by now.

Hillary backer Taylor Marsh has been trying to warn her party: “Considering Ayers’ past domestic terrorist resume, as well as his involvement with Obama, John McCain’s fighter pilot, held captive and tortured biography is made for this fight.”

BARACK OBAMA

The FARC Letter Mentioning Obama Gets a Bit More Attention

ABC News has a bit more on that FARC document that had a reference to “gringos” who were certain that Obama would be the next president, and that he would end U.S. aid to the Columbian government called “Plan Columbia.”

References to U.S. diplomatic overtures are scintillating, if vague.

In a Dec. 11 message to the secretariat, Marquez writes: “If you are in agreement, I can receive Jim and Tucker to hear the proposal of the gringos.”

The same message says an Italian referred to only as Consolo has told Marquez “the European Parliament wants to get involved in the prisoner exchange.”

Writing two days before his death, Reyes tells his secretariat comrades that “the gringos,” working through Ecuador’s government, are interested “in talking to us on various issues.”

“They say the new president of their country will be (Barack) Obama,” noting that Obama rejects both the Bush administration’s free trade agreement with Colombia and the current military aid program.

Reyes said the response he relayed is that the United States would have to publicly express that desire.

After wondering if I was nuts (or more than usual), or perhaps taking a document translation too seriously, the story is starting to get some attention around the blogosphere - John at Powerline, LGF, the editors of Foreign Policy magazine, Gateway Pundit, Jawa Report.

John wants some reporter to ask Obama, “whether his staff has been engaging in diplomatic outreach to a Communist group bent on overthrowing a U.S. ally.”

First, I’m not sure if we want that to be one of the eight questions we’re allowed every time Obama lowers himself to this plane of existence for a press availability. Second, if they say “absolutely not,” didn’t they say the same thing about anyone affiliated with the campaign meeting with the Canadians?

Sorry, but it would not be a WASH. Obama is a crook who may have sold his opposition to the war to one of his muzzie buddies. No wash here....

Rezko may well have Oil For Food contections through an Iraqi-born British multi-millionaire. Does that explain Obama’s opposition to bringing down Saddam, and not some principled stand against the war? Is Obama our Galloway?

They won't. Just as they did not the mountains of Clinton corruption. Nonetheless, the Rezko scandal indirectly links Obama to the Oil for Food corruption scandal and reveals the truth about Obama's unprincipled oppostion to bringing down Saddam Hussein. IOW, Obama is just another shadow warrior. See the following links:

This is a good article, the Auchi connection was being discussed on John Batchelor’s show tonight.

He had an official on from the State Dept? not sure, I’ll have to see when he updates his information on his website.

The gist of it was that this arms dealer Auchi who is the 279th richest man in the world, friend of Saddam, possible funder of terrorists, buyer of influence, etc., entered the world of Illinois politics through Tony Rezko, who put him with the Governor of Illinois and Barack Obama.

After his subsequent corruption became known he was deported, and the state department apparently has on file 2 letters from Illinois on his behalf, presumably from the governor and Obama.

I’m paraphrasing, but we’ll have to check Batchelor’s site for the facts. Just more ammo about O’s friend Rezko and the sleazy acquaintances that somehow keep popping up in Obama’s past.

Let’s hope Auchi becomes OUCHY.
