Why a 6.8? Just curious.

6.8 is currently used by some U.S. Special Forces using the M-16 platform. It's a known quantity but it's an improvement as compared to the 5.56's stopping power.

Bushmaster sells 6.8SPC rifles now.

They also sell gas piston retrofit kits for $400.

6.8SPC is designed to fit in an M-16 magazine. Just change the upper to the 6.8SPC barrel. The greater mass of the bullet is less affected by wind and delivers more terminal energy.
