I think conservatives are banking on the idea that electing a Democrat this year will lead to a big conservative swing in 4 years way too much. For starters...I don't see any Ronald Reagan waiting in the wings. Ronald Reagan might well have been a once in a lifetime event.

There is NO silver lining for conservatives in the cloud that is a Democrat victory in November...so conservatives would be wise to do everything in their power to make sure that does not happen.
