Building codes and ASHRAE both allow for naturally ventilated buildings. Building code only requires heating to maintain 68 degrees on a design heating day.

Hehe! I do temp control software and specifications for same. First, there are a lot of idiots in my line of work.

That said, most mechanical eng. I have met are incompetent boobs who all want to do the “latest” thing and get noticed in some magazine. They design crap but never have to own it long term.

Architects are worse.

Now we have the IBC (international building code) and it is great if the goal is to add 20% to the cost and make the place unmaintainable over the long term.

Gotta love leftist bureaucrats.
