DEERFIELD, IL, March 7, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Deerfield High School, in Deerfield, Illinois, is offering the books "Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes" (Part One & Two) - laced with graphic sexual content, including gay sex, pervasive expletives, religious denigration and mockery - in English classes this spring.
The books contain graphic descriptions of sodomy heretofore only heard of in hardcore homosexual pornography. With numerous uses of the 'f' word and vulgar sexual references to Mother Teresa, the Mother of Jesus, and God.
"After almost 15 years of school advocacy and reviewing many objectionable books and curricula, I have never seen anything this vulgar and harmful to students," says Lora Sue Hauser, Executive Director of North Shore Student Advocacy. "Parents, taxpayers and concerned citizens must force themselves to read these excerpts, as horrific as they are, so you know what kids are being exposed to. The school justifies this egregious choice because of its themes of hope. Evidently, all great literature with themes of hope have already been exhausted so teachers need to start offering pornography. We say - enough."
North Shore Student Advocacy (NSSA), an organization to help parents and students when they run into problems in public schools, was made aware of these books last fall when a parent complained. The books were part of required reading until NSSA filed a formal complaint with the school, asking the books to be reviewed by committee.
The committee decided to remove the books from required reading, but continued to offer them in the classroom as an optional title. "Optional Title," according to the principal, means that the student may select the books to study with peers and be guided by the adult, male teacher. A parental permission slip will be required, but without full disclosure of the sexually explicit content. This conclusion is unacceptable to the complaining parent and to NSSA. They are asking that this pornographic book be removed from curriculum completely.
The State's Attorney's office of Lake County, Illinois, deemed the books "obscene" according to Illinois obscenity laws, violating the "distributing harmful materials to minors" statute. However, state and federal obscenity laws exempt schools and libraries under "affirmative defense," giving the school and teachers involved near immunity.

It is time to “get real”. Government schools can NOT be reformed. They have ALWAYS been in conflict with freedom of conscience and the First Amendment.
Also,,,the government schools are utterly and thoroughly infiltrated and controlled by Marxists and their Useful Idiots.
The only option left for any parent is to remove their child immediately! Join with other parents to work for the complete abolishment of government schooling.

The above quote by Thomas Jefferson explains why running of the school board, getting involved with PTA enablers of evil, or getting involved with politics will NOT fix the fundamental conflict that all government schools have with freedom of conscience and the First Amendment!

Your teen age girl or boy is to study sexually stimulating porn with an adult male teacher guiding them along? Guiding them along to WHERE and WHAT.
I'm becoming more and more convinced that the current crop of public school administrators and teachers who involve themselves into these types of too-close relationships and initiate "study groups" for sexual-content books with their young students are privately sexually-unstable themselves mixed in with having absolutely no morals or ethics of any kind.
If some male teacher started this kind of pornographic "study" in a "group" situation with a daughter of mine, I'd file charges against him as soon as I could get a lawyer.
What bothers me is that the article states the porn book came to light only because ONE parent objected. The liberal swells in Deerfield obviously don't care too much what their kids are reading and I bet that "one" stoolie parent has been drummed out of the village's Junior League Society already.

I outlined a bold plan that would SHUT DOWN every government school in the U.S.! No one would need to move anywhere.
My plan would rescue children by the millions, and completely **eliminate** the Marxist's most effective weapon against freedom. That weapon that the Marxists are using to destroy our nation is our government schools! These schools would be GONE!
The Neo-communists would love nothing better than for conservatives to try to play by the old rules ( PTA, school board meetings, political action, yada, yada, blah, blah! )..No! NO! What's needed here is a complete SHUT DOWN of the government schools. Put the neo-communists running the schools out on the unemployment line!
