From Apathy back into Bondage - Freedom’s Eleventh Hour
Canada Free Press ^ | March 10, 2008 | JB Williams

The cycle identifies eight stages of a process which demonstrates exactly how history tends to repeat itself. America finds itself in the seventh stage as it heads into the 2008 election, where it will decide whether or not to leap headlong into stage eight. Here’s how it happened and what the 2008 election is really all about.

(snip)

United upon founding principles, we have stood as the world’s beacon of individual freedom and liberty for more than 230 years. But divided as we are today, the nation is collapsing. Though we are at war with many international enemies who do indeed seek to bring an end to America as we know it, no threat is greater than the threat posed from within, American against American.

(snip)

We will alter our voting habits and the government that results now, or we will soon have no option but to abolish it and start over.

It’s not just our right to alter or abolish a government which has become destructive of these principles and values, it is our obligation.

In a few months, Americans will make a decision. We will decide to either leap headlong into the socialist abyss with Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, or stem the tide by voting against those who seek political power via Democratic Socialism.

Without any doubt. The voters will decide the path and fate of America. It truly is faux-Americans against real-Americans, based on core founding principles of individual freedom and democracy. Our Constituional Republic hangs in the balance.

Sadly, it appears that John McCain is only a lesser evil. But no American has a presidential candidate to vote “for” this cycle and I don't know what it will take to get such a candidate in the future.

There can be no doubt about what the DNC candidates stand for and therefore, real Americans must unite on principles to keep them far from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. But what a sad day in American history when John McCain is the best we can do...

All that’s left to vote for is the letter following the name of the socialist/statist in the White House.

Other than the choice of D or R, there’s no difference.

While I would certainly agree that there is too little difference between the options available, I can not agree that there is NO difference at all. It simply isn't true.

Hillary's resume is nothing but a dirty laundry list of crime and corruption, built upon a lifelong pursuit of Marxist principles and anti-American propaganda.

Obama has no resume at all, beyond his family connections to both international Marxists and Muslim Terror regimes.

McCain, while far to liberal on several issues of great importance, did serve this country in uniform once, has supported conservative values and principles on other issues over the years, and does not have a life of crime and corruption, nor any known affiliations with Marxists or Terrorists, other than Teddy Kennedy...

These are in fact significant differences worthy of note and consideration.

McNut is the most corrupt member of that great deliberative body of thieves and traitors.

Unfortunate politics as usual. Show me a U.S. Congressman with power, and I'll show you a man tied to scandal among his many constituents somewhere.

Clearly, not McCain's finest hour. Are you suggesting that this makes McCain equal to Obama or Clinton? Really?

No, I've just never been sure of what the whole thing was all about, except that it involved McCain. IMO, all politicians are corrupt - it's the nature of the beast. But if McCain will not betray us in the WOT, I'll vote for him.

(The Republican Party must die!)

Really? More corrupt than the Clinton's, who brought political crime and corruption to a whole new level? More corrupt than Obama, whose only accomplishment in life is his ties to International Marxists like Chavez and Muslim Terrorists around the globe? MORE corrupt than the DNC who sold American sovereignty and security out to international socialists decades ago?

McCain is MORE dangerous and MORE corrupt than his opponents? Are you sure? List me all of his high crimes and misdemeanors please.

I hate the notion of voting for McCain just to keep Clinton-Obama out of the WH. If he is truly a "traitor" as you say, I will be first in line to lynch him. If you are right, I need to know! We all need to know these facts... Be specific please. Broad accusations are nothing more than dangerous propaganda.

Sadly, this happens wherever and whenever the “people” forget that it is “their” country and “their” government to run, not the other way around.

Politicans can always be counted upon to act like self-serving politicians. That's why the people were to be forever vigilant. We haven't been for some time and now we are reaping the just rewards.

Sadly, I think this is the truth.

Go in a headloing rush with the Dems or peek and jump feet first with the Reps.

I hope I'm wrong.

I think McCain IS more dangerous, at least to the Republican party, than either of the Dems but not more corrupt than Hitlery.

I don't think it is very helpful or effective to refer to the Democrats as "socialists".

The vast majority of Americans don't even know what the word means, and those that do associate it more with the government running businesses directly rather than controlling them indirectly through excessive regulation and taxation.

A more successful tack would be to rightly claim that the Democrats want America to be more like Western Europe.

Then all we have to do is point out how everything in America is better (lower unemployment, bigger houses, more wealth in general, more freedom, etc.) and hope the voters decide correctly.

Once the word "socialist" comes out of your lips you have either confused the illiterate or pegged yourself as a right wing nut job in the minds of moderates.

Unfortunatley, you are NOT wrong, even if a bit overstated.

We had better options available a couple months ago and failed to advance any of them. That’s the reality. Now, McCain is the “least” we can do, once we failed to do everything we should have done.
