Japan is using their advantage to price cars below the market in the US

What does "below the market" even mean?

It means that Japan actually loses money on many of the cars it sells in the US...breaks even on some. Any losses are made up by charging higher prices in Japan-closed market-all the while being subsidized by the Japanese government.
