Lubbock man guilty of molestation blames fatigue, victims

David Schoor said he molested three young girls because he was working too many hours and his victims compelled him to do it.

Schoor took the stand in the punishment phase of his aggravated sexual assault trial after pleading guilty to the jury on Monday.

"I just didn't know what I was doing," Schoor said when asked why he assaulted the girls. "I was tired and stressed out a lot from where I was working."

Schoor pleaded guilty to assaulting one of the girls, but prosecutors presented evidence he molested three girls, ages 4, 6 and 8.

"So you being tired made you sexually attracted to these little girls?" asked Scott Morris, assistant Lubbock County criminal district attorney.

Schoor said no and that he just "rubbed her on the wrong spot."

He then blamed the girls for his behavior.

"They kept pushing me to do it," he said.

Schoor's father, Randy Schoor, took the stand in his son's defense. Randy Schoor said he does not consider the five felony counts to which his son pleaded guilty to be criminal acts.

"Criminal is when you kill somebody," he said, adding that aggravated sexual assault of three little girls is not criminal.

Jurors will decide Schoor's punishment after arguments resume today.

The nut doesn't fall far from the tree. We need to keep an eye on Randy Schoor. I would like to keep a set of leg irons on him, but I am not a duly constituted court, a fact for which he should thank whatever god or gods he might worship.

""They kept pushing me to do it," he said."

I hope your cellmate will use the exact same excuse when he decides to try and fit your head between the narrow little bars of your new home.

I'd like to see the whole quote...I can't believe someone would say that! Is there an explanation of how he was able to be alone with three different young girls?

Huh? This idiot's lawyer allowed him to take the stand? Shallow end of the gene pool indeed. Perhaps, even the part of the gene pool that had dried up.

I’d expect that his cell mate fitting this guy’s head between the bars is not the only action that happens.

Nope, but his ears will act like a spring lock and keep him from moving around too much.

"They kept pushing me to do it," he said.

Isn't this the lame-arsed excuse of most sexual offenders? The old "she really wanted it" line of "thinking." Only in this scumbag's mind would a child urge him to molest them. Why can't we bring back the scourge or the cat o' nine? Maybe his cellmate will use the "he begged for it" excuse...

One POS molester that I had as a 6th grade teacher was caught. He molested a few of my friends. A few years later, I saw an interview with that scumbag and he said that the kids enticed him to do it. Yeah, a 12 year old boy looks so darn sexy, doesn't he? Disgusting.

When he made that statement, he was only a couple of weeks away from release. Obviously, he wasn't cured. He should have been killed, as there is no curing them.

I’ve seen threads on FR where posters say the same thing about 12-year-old children.

My exact thoughts when I read that his father doesn’t think a crime was committed. Father probably taught son to molest little ones.

Well, the jury just sentenced him to 5 life terms for it. Evidently, his and his father’s justification had an effect.
