03/11/2008 John Kerry Statement on Admiral Fallon's Resignation

"The looming question now is whether the cost of Admiral Fallon's candor was his job."

WASHINGTON, DC – Senator John Kerry made the following statement today about the retirement of Admiral William Fallon. Kerry pressed Congress to pose tough questions about whether Fallon was dismissed for voicing dissent against a rush to war with Iran.

“Congress needs to determine immediately whether Admiral Fallon’s resignation is another example of truth tellers being forced to the sidelines in the Bush Administration. His departure must not clear the way for a rush to war with Iran.

Admiral Fallon has been a voice of common sense and truth in an Administration where candor has been in tragically short supply. He was correct in warming that we diverted resources from Afghanistan to fight a war of choice in Iraq, and correct in warning of the risks of a rush to war with Iran.

Over these last seven Bush years, we’ve seen those who toe the company line get rewarded and those who speak inconvenient truths get retired. We know that George Tenet got the Medal of Freedom for “slam dunk” evidence on non-existent WMD’s and General Shinseki got retired for telling the truth about the troop levels needed in Iraq.

The looming question now is whether the cost of Admiral Fallon’s candor was his job.”

Well a bullet in the butt should count for something, dontcha think? :)

Was not a bullet, but a FEW grains of rice which ended up in his butt because this Rhodes Scholar tried to destroy a cache of rice by tossing a grenade into it which any 17 year-old high school drop out recruit would realize this procedure would be useless--needs to be burned.

As probably one of the ONLY people serving in Vietnam at the time, who knew of an obscure regulation allowing for those having been awarded 3 purple hearts the option of requesting to be reasigned statewide, I cannot imagine The Snake not knowing that:

"ALL Generals/Admirals serve at the pleasure of the CIC"

And even if W asked for his resignation (which he should have) it is all above board and this is one because "Live Shot," has been out of the limelight so long, he doesn't care what he has to do to get a little media attention. Of course, this phony, fraudulent, POS, would not know this

Like Kerry’s, the Admiral’s disloyalty to his President and his Nation makes him in fact a traitor. The President decides who and when we go to war with and all Americans, especially the military, must follow the direction of America’s Commander in Chief.

With him, that would be a potential head wound.
