I’m not against using cod liver oil, but the reality is that its form of vitamin A is stored in our fat cells, making a large daily dose over time a real hazard:

But let's not scare people off cod liver oil entirely, because you can overdose on it. Cod liver oil (the freshest, highest quality ones, in particular, such as Carlson) is one of nature's finest foods. One just has to watch the dose a little closer than with many nutrients.

I'll wager we've got many more people in this nation overdosing from trans-fats, nutra-sweet, high glucose corn syrup and over processed carbs with unpronounceable additives than we do overdosing on cod liver oil ;).
