Are too many northerners moving to NC? I’m surprised it still goes Republican for president. Maybe NC is in danger of going the way of VA, and turning “purple.” How sad would that be. But you mostly elect Demo governors, and get prosecutors like Nifong. Pretty sad.
A guy like Kerry shouldn’t have gotten 44% of the vote there. I assumed he did better there than in other southern states because of Edwards. I think McCain will win NC this year but I will be very interested to see what the margin is.

NC keeps electing Democrats in power primarily because of their power base in the NEA TEacher’s union and the State Employees (Government workers union)....and the “yellow Dog Democrats” who keep voting Dem because their papa did and their papa did....and the African American vote....and the trial lawyers suppoert....and the misguided liberal lefties who heavily hang out in the UNC professorships, the Major newspaper writers, the major Television stations (WRAL is one) ...and a weak Republican party statewide.
The Dems have a very strong MACHINE that is so corrupted by its continuing power.....it is killing this state.
