Obama Criticizes McCain on Taxes
The Associated Press ^ | March 13, 2008 | Charles Babington

CHICAGO (AP) — Democratic Sen. Barack Obama said Thursday that Sen. John McCain reversed his position on President Bush's deep tax cuts in order to win the Republican presidential nomination, one of his sharpest criticisms yet of the Arizona senator he hopes to face this fall.

Criticizing GOP efforts to extend major tax cuts from Bush's first term and to eliminate the estate tax, Obama said: "These are all steps that John McCain rightly said were irresponsible when they first came up."

... but McCain has said he will not attack Osama or the Beast with truth and there are those on FR that say that is okay just to wait. That is why he will lose.

Sen. McCain immediately apologized for thinking about criticizing Obama, and fired a key campaign staffer in a symbolic gesture.

He and Hillary both voted to raise the taxes on people making as little as $31,850. I guess they’ll try to spin these people as “the rich”.

It’s easy to see their motives. Can’t have people saving money and accumulating wealth - they might be independent in their old age and not need (and resent) the welfare state.

Don't worry Obama, some more money maybe rolling in when the IRS revokes your churches tax exempt status.

"The drive-by media knew what they were doing in picking our candidate, no?"

Not really. IF we ignore his sect's charges of racism if we go after his RECORD. Rather, LACK thereof.

If there is one thing I can't stomach - besides stupidity, but related - is being preached to about morals and ethics by a man with the vacuous expression of a Cabbage Patch doll. You study his face. There is nobody home there. The COLOR doesn't matter. The EYES do. They are empty. They're like looking at a reflection. There is nobody looking back at you. He's frightening.

We can hit Hillary about her past and her record...but what that boils down to in the end is that SHE HAS ONE.

McCain needs to learn that he has to live up to that presidential jawline he’s so proud of.

The funny thing is that all McCain has to do is say....Yep, I was wrong....tax cuts work and thats why I want to make them permanent....Now, Senator Obama, will you now sign on to this making tax cuts permanent agreement that I have here in my hands?

I’m a black & white guy (no pun intended). I think most tax payers would like to hear this from a candidate...a bright line distinction.

There is no way Obama could or would sign on to this and McCain could hang this on him every whistelestop for the remainder of the campaign.

Funny thing, we American voters...we really don’t have a problem when a candidate admits being wrong - whether it is BS or not.

Would McCain do this ...probably not.

Yeah, but McCain has no understanding of economics and admits it. However, he doesn't want us to lose our place as the leaders of the free world. Obama wants us to become another Third World, totalitarian country because he hates us, he hates capitalism, his mother was nuts and apparently he caught it too. He WANTS the US to...learn a lesson. He admits THAT.

Understand this:

No “black”/democrat church will ever suffer ANY repercussions for political activity.

Never.

Arlen and I don’t get along well. I’ve campaigned against him in every election since I got into campaigning...and even when I was not a resident of PA - just a former one.

He would if he thought it would get him votes. He really needs to distance himself from the Democrats. Hard with the "maverick" position he's worked on for the past eight years...but possible. In fact, he could use his newfound understanding of trickle down economics (without saying it like that) TO distance himself from the Democrats. Golden opportunity.

Let me see: the extreme-left lib (Obama) is criticizing the moderately left lib (McCain) on taxes? This is noise within noise. A pox on both. (And a meteor on Hillary.)

Next to impossible for McCain. Too many of his 'friends' are from across the aisle where he has been reaching for the last dozen years.

“WHAT was Obama’s vote? PRESENT? Or did he grow the cajones to vote “Nay”?”

Obama is such a junior Senator, he wasnt in the Congress. He was in the Illinois statehouse, voting on STATE Taxes back then, voting to raise taxes for the people of Illinois.

More truth than humor in that...and it's pretty darn funny!
