Americans are Getting the Significance of the Obama Pastor Story While the MSM Spins Away
Blogs for John McCain ^ | March 14, 2008 | brianinmo

I thought it might be interesting to see how people other than political junkies like me are reacting to the bombshell news about the statements of Barack Obama's longtime pastor, Jeremiah Wright. Many in the media are trying to gloss it over, or suggest it is on a par with radical statements by supporters who have endorsed Hillary Clinton and John McCain. Of course, they know that is a totally false comparison. The big deal in this story is that BARACK OBAMA HAS LISTENED TO THIS KIND OF ANTI-AMERICAN AND RACIAL HATRED FOR 20 YEARS AND WAS NOT BOTHERED ENOUGH BY IT TO LEAVE THE CHURCH! Pardon my shouting, but the Mainstream Media's deliberate attempts to protect Obama are breathtaking.

Back to the purpose of this post - comments from real people! Here is a sampling from ABC News blog Political Punch, hardly frequented by radical Republicans, and I think you see many voters are "getting" the real problem for Obama in this story, even though the MSM is working hard to protect him on it. You can go over there to read many more comments:

I don't know what Obama can do now. How can he denounce and reject the support of his own pastor for 20 years? It's not like it was a little one-time slip.

It's up to the people and the media to hold him accountable for his long, intimate association with this hate-monger and this church which honored Farrakhan with a lifetime achievement award.

Posted by: Judith | Mar 14, 2008 4:09:05 AM

Its over for Obama because there is nothing he could now say except "Words".
Too bad the media didn't pick this up sooner.

Posted by: so saddened | Mar 14, 2008 2:56:04 AM

if hillary attended a similar church she'd have been forced out immediately. but obamaites just keep excusing, excusing, excusing. he may even get the nomination, because of all the excusing and the media coverup of the truth about him. but the repubs will not be so kind as to hide this sort of thing. and they won't let him get away with that just a crazy old uncle b.s. they will rightly point out that he CHOSE this church/pastor, stayed there 20 years, had this guy marry him and baptize his kids, contributed 2000 per month, etc. just another of the many reasons obama is not only wrong for the country but unelectable.

Posted by: Concerned Christian | Mar 14, 2008 3:08:04 AM

girlinvt, you are so right about leaving a church that spews hatred. but obama didn't. and not only does that reflect his agreement with the pastor's views, despite his denials, but it also says something about what he's teaching his children. imagine how children's views of the world must be affected by spending their childhood hearing that sort of hate speech in what's supposed to be a place of God?

Posted by: suzelee | Mar 14, 2008 12:57:45 AM

Why didn't the media report on this before so many people voted for Obama? Nobody would go to this church (which should NOT be tax exempt) for 20 years unless they liked the message. He should change his slogan from "yes we can" to oh no you didint!

Did you catch what this bozo was saying just FIVE days after 9/11, while Americans were still mourning the dead and coming to terms with death and destruction in our cities? It's a standard rant for the far-left but most certainly not reasonable or plausible or acceptable to a majority of real Americans:

"We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye," Rev. Wright said in a sermon on Sept. 16, 2001. "We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America's chickens are coming home to roost," he told his congregation.

That’s what I was thinking. Get videos of these sermons and post them on YouTube, Google Video, Metacafe, Veoh, everywhere. Get the word out through a viral campaign. If enough people hear it and grok its implications, Obama should be toast.

I notice the concern is not about Obama’s viewpoints as exposed by this reverend,

but about how this will affect Obama’s campaign.

LOL. Good find! I love how this little KosFreak thinks that someone's hate-filled loony pastor of 20 years can be passed of as just some "crazy friend" kept around for purposes of enlightenment:

"We all have our crazy friends but instead of them branding us as crazy they give us insight into the complex human brain and force us outside of our comfort zone where creativity flourishes."

Yeah, go with that one, Obama, that line of rationalization will be a huge winner!!

IMHO the key to whether Obama is a closet Muslim is the apostasy thing. Islam views apostasy as a crime every bit as bad as murder, a crime that carries a death penalty. If an apostate isn't killed, he's at least forever ostracized by the Muslim community. Although Obama states he's a "Christian" and has attended this "Christian" church for 20 years, he's never been denounced as an apostate by any leading Muslim, even the most radical. All by itself, that's compelling evidence that he's an anti-American closet Muslim.

EXACTLY.

I refuse to be cynical about this- it is completely unnerving to ponder on the 20 YEAR relationship between Jeremiah Wright, Barack and Michelle Obama. They take their CHILDREN to this church. The teachings of Wright are condoned by the Obama’s just by their continued membership.

He wants to be President of the United States of America.

Chilling.

His wife claims that she agreed he could run for the presidency if he quit smoking. I doubt he really quit with the stress of campaigning and all.

Kos’s strategy won’t work because Obama has been an acolyte of the Reverend Wright for more than twenty years. He performed the marriage for Obama and his wife and baptized their two daughters. Add that to the fact that Obama borrowed the title of his book, The Audacity of Hope, from the title of one of Wright’s sermons. Obama needs to explain what he believes, instead of speaking in platitudes.

The tenets and beliefs of Wright’s church need to be given the same scrutiny that was given to Romney’s Mormonism, because Obama’s church is certainly not mainstream Christianity. Maybe Wright’s church should lose it’s tax free status, since it is more of a political activist group than a church.

13% of Americans think BO (middle initial deleted) is an adherent of the Religion of Peace (trade mark pending. Now the other 87% are finding out the truth which is awful enough.

This is an added reason why I've been praying for Obama to snag the Dem nomination. Being from Illinois I knew he was fatally vulnerable over the long haul when his radical Chicago background started seeping out.

I've been politely but adamantly critical of Rush for urging listeners and conservatives to cross over and vote for Hillary. I took a lot of flak for it here, too. The Hildabeest should have been put away when the chance existed. With this "church" scandal, Obama has a good, almost certain, chance of being thrown under the train. Hillary will take the convention....and probably the election as she will look "moderate" next to the deposed Messiah.

I wonder if Rush will continue to urge votes for Hillary. How misdirected he is. He better change his "CHAOS" strategery immediately. His game-playing on his show is creating chaos and confusion, but, unfortunately, it's among his listeners.

You could be on to something, he claims not to be a Muslim because he belongs to this “church”?

He is obviously an Anti-American, and trying to closet his real views on the stump, lying openly to his fainting followers.

He is a member of the Democrat Party who make a home for traitors, he vows to surrender to our Islamic cult enemies in Iraq, he vows to “talk” with the mullahs, he will not wear the American flag, he has been caught refuses to salute the flag, his wife has admitted to hatred of the US, he is an admitted socialist and shares many views of communists.

Our saving grace will be with this goon is that if he gets the nod he will not carry the vote for the white southern male. Racist maybe or just because they can read and see a anti-American liar for what he is, either way they won’t vote for him.

The only thing that may screw us is McCain’s MO and promise not to attack this guy. McCain will never address this issue and publicly cower and condemn any who do and thus effectively letting Hussein hide it from the public.

Thanks. I’m not sure that’s right about Michelle bringing him to the church. They met in the summer of 1989. I believe Barack came to the church in 1988. After reading some her thesis, she probably fit right in, though.

I fear you are right - I wish that Obama had been allowed to proceed on his merry way to the nomination and that all this could have come out in September (now we may still get Shrillary):

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1985187/posts

Jesus was a poor black man fighting the oppression of rich whites, don’t you know?

This minister is a nut, but he is Obama’s favorite nut for 20+ years and Obama will not be able to pass this off as just one “crazy friend” as the KosFreak poster wants to do.

Shrillary’s people must be working diligently right now to pressure every MSM outlet to start running with this stuff.

corporate attorney, Michelle Obama has never until now been proud of her country

The story of Obama requesting a cool million in "earmarks" for the hospital where his wife works as an administrator and the same hospital that DOUBLED her salary, is just as big a story we don't see covered.
