Politician's 'Anti-Gay' Speech Sparks Outrage ("Outrage?"... Sally Kern death threats pour in)

An Oklahoma state representative has received thousands of hostile e-mail messages after she said that homosexuality is a bigger threat to national security than terrorism.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating more than 17,000 mostly hostile e-mails that were sent to State Rep. Sally Kern after parts of a speech she gave to a Republican organization earlier this year were posted on YouTube, said bureau spokeswoman Jessica Brown. Listen to portions of the speech.

During the speech, Kern said that "the homosexual agenda is just destroying this nation" and that homosexuality poses a bigger threat to the United States than terrorism. "According to God's word, that is not the right kind of lifestyle," she said.

"Studies show no society that has totally embraced homosexuality has lasted more than a few decades," Kern, a former teacher who sits on the education committee, added.

Liberal true love is to issue death threats against those who disagree with their dogma.

Brave woman. Now the left will do all they can to break her down. I hope she can keep standing strong.

It probably would have been better to leave out the comparison to terrorism because they are two very different evils. But still, I understand her point and support her.

She's wrong. France is totally gay and they're doing just fine.

(apologies to Francophiles. I love that Sarkozy. Not in a gay way though)

At this point I think Texas should annex Oklahoma and leave the union. Just kidding, well not really, maybe sorta not I don’t know. Well, Texas should at least leave the union.

According to the OSBI and Sally Kern herself, she has not gotten death threats.

"Kern said Monday that she had not received death threats. On Tuesday, she said, "It's changed," but she did not elaborate."

"I wouldn't characterize them as death threats," which was said by OSBI spokeperson.

About time someone has the balls to say this. Funny how the only Republican to say this is a woman too. You go girl!

This was probably after the Ellen Show tried to call her.

Ellen got her panties in a twist over this and had to make an on air call.

A good friend of mine works as an intern for Rep. Kern. She, Rep. Kern, and all of the rest of her staff could definitely use some prayers.

Can anyone disprove this?

Thought not..

I think she went a bit far in her comments but she is correct that homosexuality is a threat to this nation.

Why don’t we all right her and give her some encouragement (although ask her to be a bit smarter in her expression of her views next time).

Here’s her e-mail address: sallykern@okhouse.gov

“homosexuality poses a bigger threat to the United States than terrorism.”.....

No, but the flamethrower homosexuality demonstrated in the U.S. is one reason the terrorists hate us.

We should speak the truth in love now because the way things are shaping up, “hate speech” legislation is just around the corner.

I guess Rome could arguable be one. The most successful societies throughout history adhered to God's word. How about you naming a successful society that embraced homosexuality. Yea, thought not.

Not possible. No criticism of Satan’s sodomite agenda could be strong enough.

Here are my thoughts on the subject.

As a lifelong resident of the state of Oklahoma and someone whose family roots run very deep in this state, I want to speak out in support of Sally Kern.

This woman does not have a captive audience. Nobody is forcing anyone to listen to her or agree with her if they don't want.

But what you have here is a small group of sorry, lazy, miserable good-for-nothing busybodys who simply have nothing bett to do than look for something to be offended by and then try to shoot down the person writing or saying what they consider to be the the offending message.

Actually homosexuality and terrorism are two very different eivs but they are evils noetheless. Still, whether anyone likes it being said or not homosexuality is an abomination.

Now, if that thought offends you, then don't pay attention to it. Too many people are wanting to play speech and thought police and criminalize this thought.

There are far more important things to deal with then what people like Sally Kern are thinking, writing or saying and people had best start learning to accept that there are going to be those with these kind of thoughts that you may have to work with in order to better your life.

This is not a secluar-progressive majority nation. this is a conservative majority nation. Anybody who says otherwise is a bald faced pathological liar and Ellen Degeneras is a bald faced pathological liar!!!!!!

Kern has done a lot of good things for the people in her state legislative disrict and the state. She and her legislative staff are in my thoughts and prayers.

If what she or anybody says offends than may I suggest packing up and moving to another part of the world where speech and thought policing are the order of the day.

Oklahoma does not a bunch of new world order busybodys telling us which speech is acceptable and which isn't. As far as I'm concerned, these ninny-nannys can go straight to hades. I have no use for them whatsoever.

Regards.........
