The FSB was said to be hunting for the organisers of the crime. For now, the man is arrested and charged with firearms offences. The paper said that Osmanov is not thought to be the mastermind behind the assassination bid.

Let the purges and show trials begin. Stalin is back.

Yes, I’ve seen several Hollywood productions with “sniper rifles” with no sights whatsoever.

Now tyrant Putin’s KGB thugs will begin rounding up ‘the usual suspects’, or maybe this was another Kremlin invented excuse to eliminate those in Russia who still don’t worship ‘the great leader’.

maybe this was another Kremlin invented excuse to eliminate those in Russia who still don’t worship ‘the great leader’.==

The gunman was named by the newspaper as Shakhvelad Osmanov, a 24-year-old Tajik national. His sniper rifle was said to be foreign-made and to have optical lenses, it said. ==

How so the Tajik national with foreign rifle may represent Russians? Ritorical question.

1. "Tvoy den" ("Your day") is a tabloid;

2. The spot where Putin and Mdevedev were, can't be seen from the address mentioned in the article.

from Google earth Notes: 1. The arrow points to the presumed sniper's nest, 2. Putin's way out of the Kremlin outlined in red. The distance is approx. 560 yards.

Yes, of course, how could I be so foolish as to question the unquestioned perpetual credibility of the Kremlin and all of Putin's wonderful, devoted members of the controlled neo-Soviet press corp.

The real criminal was Catty the cat!

It’s still unclear what the Kremlin, FSB or whatever has to do with an item by a local version of “Sun” or maybe even worse.

It very clear Putin Inc will stop at nothing in their crazed lust for total control. Now that's clear...

Now? Exactly this yellow press report makes you think so, doesn't it?

1. Putin is a sober and a adequate person, unlike late Yeltsin.

2. Putin is a one who works.

3. He lacks communication skills and charming people isn't his best side. (Bush is an exception since he's an idiot.)

4. Putin is disciplined himself, also he managed to discipline the state bureaucratic machine to some extent, while not fully.

5. Putin is too Soviet-style to my like, "patron of the people". Also, his way of management is somewhat military.

6. Putin really did things for Russia's benefit. He also made mistakes (like support of Yanukovich during Ukraine's 2004 election and the British Council's case).

7. Putin is good at tough talks.

On the whole, Putin's politics was adequate to the outgoing period of Russian history.
