That’s funny. Most of the Tejanos living in the northern most part of Coahuila y Tejas supported Santa Ana’s rise to power. They objected to his tossing out the Mexican Constitution. Anyone who owned land in Tejas prior the the war of independence was Mexican.
There were about 5ish other uprisings against Mexico, as well. The last one was the Republic of the Rio Grande in 1841.

Sounds interesting.
I'm currently working on a novel (the working title is The Guardians) about an Army Special Operations unit that is tasked with dealing with those who finance, support, and recruit for Al-Qaeda. To help keep the unit a secret, it is called The Grand Old Army of the Republic and all of the field and support teams are named after Civil War generals (both North and South).
Unfortunately, the unit's secret is revealed to the world by an unscrupulous lefty Senator and the team I will be concentrating on has to make their way out of Iran without being caught.
