Mexicans want to build their own border fence

Town votes to erect barrier to keep out criminals from neighboring district

Even while the central government in Mexico decries efforts within the U.S. to build a southern border fence, one northern Mexico town has decided to build its own border fence to fight crime.

About 70 percent of the residents of the town of San Nicolas de los Garza voted last month to erect a barrier with neighboring Guadalupe, on the outskirts of the city of Monterrey. San Nicolas law enforcement authorities say criminals strike inside their town and flee to Guadalupe, outside of their jurisdiction.

But the Mexican government has been saying for years that fences never work! These people must be insane. ;)

Mexico would like to build fence for all 700 miles.

They would be very good at this. For construction techniques, they'd work closely with the Switzerland Cheese Industry.

” Everyone knows that fences don’t work.”

Especially the smart ones from Boeing. May be EADS could build some in Mobile, AL that work.

“Especially the smart ones from Boeing.”

I believe Boeing designed and manufactured the exact final product the government demanded from them in a wink/wink understanding of contract terms.

The “virtual fence” was designed to fail.

A workable “virtual fence” could be assembled with off the shelf products available to your local burgler alarm and security company.

Is there any doubt that the company that built Air Force 1, Apache helicopters, ICBM guidance systems, missle defense systems, and just about any other hi-tech defense system imaginable is capable of building an intruder alert system?

A fence without holes is called a wall :-)
