"Open City": a city that is not occupied or defended by military forces and that is not allowed to be bombed under international law - Merriam-WebsterDictionary
When you start a polemic by uttering blatant falsehoods i.e. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were open cities despite the presence of Japanese military forces and industry, and despite the Japanese government's lack of open city declaration, then the rest of your specious assertions can be safely ignored.

...You are at best ignorant, at worst stupid, either way that is no way to go through life. Your analogy is pathetic.

Poor doctrines are usually an underestimation of Sin and the way God sees mankind.
God is Righteous to Wipe out Cities and all their inhabitants because ALL Mankind is Spiritually dead. Many make the mistake of thinking that God sees men as alive. If you know Scripture you know Romans 3:
10 THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE;
11 THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS,
THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD;
12 ALL HAVE TURNED ASIDE, TOGETHER THEY HAVE BECOME USELESS;
THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD,
THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE.”
Which is also a quote from Psalm 14:1-3. So if the Scriptures are repeated Twice, Why do we not believe them??
As for God’s righteousness in slaughtering whole cities (including women, children and animals): read where Samuel confronted King Saul for his Disobedience?? Or Noah and the Flood??

Rev. Wright falls into a common trap. He makes a generational judgement on historical figures.
Given the context of the time, dropping the atomic bombs on the Japanese was absolutely the right thing to do. It probably saved lives over time.
Even after the two bomb drops there were factions in the Japanese Army/government that wanted to continue the war.
And it shocked the Japanese out of their very militant way of doing things. Note that they are a great ally of ours now.

Yeah, I know! But at least he came to FR apparently intending to stay, as he put all that stuff on his “about” page.
The post, though, is teh funny.
I thought this thread got zapped? It’s back?

Fuchida and Tibbetts were both great men. I also have a lot of respect for Saburo Sakai, who had no illusions about what had been done to his country and denounced the Emperor.
One a visit to the Udar-Hazy Center, one of the guys who was supposed to fly a floatplane on a chem warfare mission against the invasion fleet said he was proud that after visitors see his plane, they will look up and see "the plane that saved my nation." He was referring to the Enola Guy.

"Reading some of the things Barack Obama's pastor has said, I suddenly saw something with which I completely agree!!" Suddenly? Yeah right, as if you didn't agree with every last conspiratorial, anti-American, racist statement that came out of his screaming piehole.
