What’s really disturbing about this whole business is how many black ministers may be stirring up hatred and sending black kids into gangs, drugs, and killings because of this hatred. “It’s all whitey’s fault.” Not a good thing to teach kids.
I had always thought that if anything could help black youngsters turn their lives around, it was the black churches. Now I’m wondering if they aren’t a major part of the problem.
It’s a pretty sickening thought, to think that the poverty pimps have bought out many or most of the churches as well as the so-called “leaders.”
It’s quite clear that whole attempt by white America to ameliorate black anger over slavery and Jim Crow via welfare, Affirmative Action, quotas, etc, has been a huge, expensive failure. Blacks will never get over it while it pays such great dividends.
Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan of NY called it in the 60s. Best thing to do with the African Americans is to treat them with benign neglect. Besides there aren’t enough black voters to decide either the nomination primaries or the general election. Hispanics are where the votes are at.
I have come to the sad conclusion that the American Black Protestant church is our counterpart of the Armenian Church--as a result of historical oppression it has completely subjugated theology to national identity to such an extent that "the church is the nation." Worship and exaltation of the victim nation takes the place of the worship of G-d. And historically, despite being a Non-Chalcaedonian church, the Armenian Church was in communion with no other church on earth (even the strange Ethiopian Church was under the Coptic Church of Egypt and through it with the Syrian and Jacobite Indian churches).

Why do you think Al Sharpton, who has wet dreams about an Obama presidency, won’t come out and endorsement him directly? He’s afraid his endorsement would sink Obama and him too. In other words, Sharpton’s chickens would be coming home to roost.
This reminds me of the mosques.

I don’t know much about it, but I read several years ago that many Christian churches really do lead black youth away from crime and into productive, happy lives. Those would be the churches that preach actual Christianity rather than some politicized, Leftist excuse factory.
