I guess my Grandpa was a Scuppie.
He LOVED Life, worked his @ss off to leave all of us better off than when he started out in life, he never wasted a dime, grew most of his own food, hunted, fished, was an excellent steward of the land he owned, served on the Lake Association Board to make sure our lake remained pristine, hung out laundry to dry (solar & wind power, LOL!), cooked from scratch, baked his own breads and sweets, composted...and was richer in cash and spirit than these Scuppies could ever HOPE to be.
I tire of people that need to pigeon-hole everyone. Are they so devoid of spirit that they need a “title” to know who they are? Yeesh!
Yes, because while they will drive their Prius is to parties, events, and when cameras are rolling to brag to the other scuppies about how green they are, the other 8 cars in their garage will be SUVs and luxury sports cars they drive the rest of the time.
The cars they drive when they are trying to get laid and show off their wealth which will be 99% of their driving time.

LOL — Heck, that’s just regular old “life” in Wisconsin. :) (And people wonder why we moved back to the Mid-west? LOL) Seriously, though there were a ton of people like that in their generation - not so many nowadays.
They were just living well, and enjoying life — these liberals want some kind of a medal for their deeds.
They spend all this money on consumption of FRIVOLOUS crap,
then demand that taxpayers provide “charity” through taxation,
just to make themselves feel good about “caring for others”.

Self aggrandizement disguised as social consciousness. How many of these hollow people actually do good for their fellow human beings and keep it secret, between them and God? ... None, I suspect, because they do what they do to substantiate their godhood thus they need others in their circle to know they do these things for they don’t trust God to keep the books straight on their behalf.
Why didn’t he just go with “scumpie”?

Actually, what has been driving the "Scuppie" phenomenon has been all of these "socially conscious" west coasters who have moved to NYC in droves since the 1990s, and are bringing their skateboard and granola outlook to Manhattan and much of Brooklyn.
TRANSPLANTS GO HOME!!! ;-)
