It’s people like this woman who are responsible for the decline of Christianity in Canada. And all the other “liberals” (who are really nihilists and pagans) who have taken over so many Protestant denominations.

She knows exactly what she is doing.
She has a degree in what she is doing.
She is doing it premeditated.
She wrote a book about it.
She is a wolf in sheep's clothing leading others astray.
Too bad she is Canadian or she could be the official pastor of DNC.
Read the tag line. I'm sure somewhere in her I'm OK, You're OK bookshelf there is a copy of the little red book.

Lord, open these people’s eyes and show them the foolishness of their ways.

I was thinking of the same portion...here it is in context. No resurrection=no hope.

13If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. 16For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. 17And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.

The world has two choices - you can believe in the son of God and join with the faithful in his church or you can hang with others who play church.

Sounds like an extreme interpretation to me. It ranks right up there with that of Islamic dogma. The kind of thing one uses to strike fear into the flock to make sure that they stay put.

I seem to recall hearing Jerry Falwell being asked by Michael Savage, the Jew, about this. Falwell as I recall, backpedaled on this often repeated refrain and said Jews would go to heaven even though they were not Chistians.

I would even say that Christ would have wanted this statement, "the way to Heaven is through me" translated for future readers to include Buddhists, Zoroastrians, and Hindus who led a morally exemplary life as he proposed to join him in Heaven. Though, St. Peter would have to work overtime checking the adherents of Mohammad to find a good soul there as too many of even the moderates and progressives among them harbor ill will toward the Jews. What's that sutra about a rock speaking out about a Jew behind it.

She is NOT a Christian - she is a pagan. She is promoting what is now being called “pagan spirituality.”

THIS NATION IS LOSING ITS RELIGION AND THE PREMISE THIS NATION WAS FOUNDED.

IN GOD WE TRUST? HOW ABOUT “IN HOPE WE TRUST?”

This woman is an apostate. She is leading others to their spiritual death and destruction.

Jesus said, “if anyone leads one of these little ones into sin, it would be better for them if they had a millstone put around their neck and were cast into the depths of the sea.” This is the very “itching ears” and false teaching that Paul and Jesus talked about.

I’m glad I’ll be in church tomorrow with my brothers and sisters in *CHRIST*. I’m not ashamed of the Gospel.

Theologians asked to comment on her book said they wouldn't until they've read it.

Ohhh can I? Can I comment on this drivel?

I don't need to read the book to know that it's a pathetic attempt to discredit what truth is.

Perhaps she should take a lesson from Pontius Pilate and figure out what is Truth. Unfortunately he never got it either.

Not really surprising in today’s world. What is perhaps annoying is that Canada’s “newspaper of record” would run this article just before Easter. But the MSM now does this, predicatably, every Christmas and Easter.

Get a load of what her fellow pastor says: “While I’m somewhat sympathetic to the aims of it all – getting rid of the nonsense and keeping the core faith – I think that there is something lacking in it all. Gone is metaphor, poetry, symbol, image, beauty, paradox.”

In other words, God doesn’t really exist, but why dump the pretty fakery?

who has likened the Christian church to a self-service cafeteria stacked with messy trays of leftover food urgently in need of being thrown out.

She wants salvation redefined to mean new life through removing the causes of suffering in the world.

She wants to tapdance in Hell.

Unbelievable

“I learned an Easter greeting from a former co-worker: “Christ is risen!” to which the response is: “He is risen indeed!” I think it’s from the Orthodox church. Very lovely and I wish it would catch on. It always lifts my heart to hear it.”

So true!
My wife is Russian, and I converted to the Russian Orthodox church when we got married. The biggest eye-opener I ever had was the first time I travelled to Russia, and saw how strong the faith of the people was. Everywhere I went, people were unapologetically Christian, and the churches were packed to overflowing every Sunday. The poverty in most places was overwhelming, yet if they had nothing else, they had their faith.
I kept thinking to myself, “These poor people have nothing, but they have everything.”
Sadly, we in America now seem to have just the opposite.

But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive opinions. They will even deny the Master who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2Even so, many will follow their licentious ways, and because of these teachers* the way of truth will be maligned. 3And in their greed they will exploit you with deceptive words. Their condemnation, pronounced against them long ago, has not been idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

The order of apostasy is:

Step 1 - Encourage people to wear ripped jeans to church.

Step 2 - Allow Praise band to set up in sanctuary.

Step 3 - Stop talking about Hell.

Step 4 - Start talking about social justice.

Step 5 - Hire a female pastor.

Step 6 - Hire a gay youth director.

Step 7 - Close the doors of the church, because Christians aren't going there, anymore.

Laugh all you want to - this formula works every time. And before you get bent out of shape and tell me that your casual praise band services won't get you to step 7, all I can say is: give it twenty years. And no, I'm not a crotchety old guy, but I've seen this pattern repeated time and again in my lifetime.
