Whats next? Child with ADHD Area? Wouldn't that just be your ordinary "Children at Play" sign?

How about a nice "Parents watch your Autistic Children" sign?
Rather than hoping a driver will stop for a child with special needs, I would rather not take the chance with my child's life.

That would be the sign for a blind child.
Out in the boondocks of Hawkins County Tennessee there is a sign....Beware Blind Child at Play

How about a nice "Parents watch your Autistic Children" sign? Rather than hoping a driver will stop for a child with special needs, I would rather not take the chance with my child's life. While perfection is an admirable goal in any endeavor, especially taking care of a child, humans being humans, perfection is simply not possible.
How many times did your young children get themselves into some type of trouble, minor or serious, because you turned your head away for a split second?
The sign is put up as a "heads up" to an out of the ordinary situation. Nothing has ever gone wrong until now but, someday, it may. What is wrong with a parent giving a "heads up" in order to take every possible precaution for the safety of his child?

Because it comes out of someone else’s pocket.
As the Godmother of an Autistic child, I can tell you that no sign will take the place of an adult’s eyes. To ask the community to pay for it, puts the responsibility elsewhere as well. I may be slammed for saying this, but I have seen many a parent of a child with special needs that have a HUGE entitlement attitude. They should always get some special treatment because of that child. Not all, Lord knows but some.
Did the parent pay for the sign?

The sign does not convey that.
Although I have a general idea of what autism is,
and that it’s a possibly over-diagnosed trendy PC
“disease”, I would not have any predictions as to
how the afflicted behave in traffic. I’m sure I’m
not alone in that.
“DEAF CHILD” would be more effective in getting
drivers to change their expectations with
respect to upcoming juvenile pedestrians.
What’s next: “A.D.D. CHILD AHEAD”?
Whoever is coming up with these signs is
frankly too close to the problem.

In a similar vein -- someone please explaint to me why a child with diabetes rates preferential line treatment at disney World? Sis-in-law told us that she was traveling with other relatives, one of whom was a diabetic child, and that the entire party got to use "special needs" entrance lanes for rides. Now, I know there are timing of meals issues and the like, but can't parents bring appropriate snacks for long waits? Water? medication?

That Clinton sign can’t be real because it doesn’t have bullet holes in it. The one I saw in Hope, Arkansas in 1998 had bullet holes.
