WOULDA-COULDA-SHOULDAS ON IRAQ
By James Lewis
The woulda-coulda-shouldas sprang forth on the five-year anniversary of the overthrow of Saddam Hussein last week. It was Monday morning quarterbacking, mostly. Pundits confuse their personal brainstorms with history, and pretend they could have carried that football better than George W. Bush did in 2003; or even more bizarrely, they imagine there was no game at all that day. Saddam was obviously harmless, as the media think they know after the fact. 9/11 was a one-time accident. On Monday morning everything is clear.
Rational wars are waged for strategic goals, and yes, Iraq is a rational war. But to understand geopolitical strategy you have to look at a map, understand our life-and-death dependence on oil, face the spread of mass-killing weapons, watch the rise of deeply irrational regimes, and then cleanse your mind of all the cheap sentimental cliches and political spins that are constantly gushed by the media. You have to look at reality.

MARINE SINGS ANSWER TO DIXIE CHICKS HIT
By Dan Lamothe - Staff writer
Posted : Friday Mar 21, 2008 6:23:15 EDT
Cpl. David Thibodeaux was in Iraq with 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines, when the Dixie Chicks partnered with anti-war group MoveOn.org in 2004. Despite the band making headlines with anti-war views, he didnt know much about them, he says.
Nevertheless, Thibodeaux now sings Not Ready to End the Fight, an answer song to the Dixie Chicks 2006 anti-war hit, Not Ready to Make Nice.
Ive seen so many good things happen in Iraq, and I dont think its time for the war to end, said Thibodeaux, a member of the Chemical and Biological Incident Response Force. Anybody who doesnt think there are terrorists out there should open their eyes.

I had not heard about the rebutal song to the Dixie Chicks. That put a big ole smile on my face.
Hi snugs...how cool that Good Friday and Easter Monday are holidays in Britain. I can remember the day when we got 2 hours off work to go to church on Good Friday and spring break coincided with Easter. But it is not “politically correct” to do that anymore, so they say. Offends non-Christians, I guess.
The father and son photos are very poignant. I should have made one of them the photo of the day but I was so excited to see Barbara with her longtime boyfriend that I made it the photo of the day. I am hoping they are very serious and that we will have a WH wedding later this year.

I wonder how Mom and Dad would survive two weddings in one year?! [Can’t wait for Jenna’s wedding on May 10 . . . I’m hopeful that the White House will release at least a few photos from the event!]
it’s not easy, I’m 2/3’s done with 3 in 13 months! Just one more to go in August and I’m DONE!!!
OH, is Jay Barbara’s ‘main squeeze’? He’s cute! The girls chose well, didn’t they?

Three in 13 months . . . I’d be ready for a padded room somewhere! [I hope your weddings were/will be a joy for all concerned, especially MOM!]
Wouldn’t you love to hear their conversations when they can finally be away from the prying ears of the press?
I would! :D
They love one another so much, those two Bush men!
That is an adorable picture of Barbara and her boyfriend, Jay.
According to the gossip columns, Barbara has been dating Jay Blount off and on since she was at Yale. He was her guest at the dinner for Queen Elizabeth II in 2007.
It is strange in Britain sometimes we are more PC than in the US and other times we are not.
For example lst week our receptionist had to make an Easter bonnet for her son for school.
So here we have a total mix PC in as much boys do an Easter bonnet but not PC in as much as it is to do with Easter at a school that has a fair mix of other religions.
