Fred Thompson looks to go back to acting

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - After a failed run for president, Fred Thompson is getting back to pretending to be commander in chief.

Hollywood's high-powered William Morris Agency announced this week that it has signed the actor/politician, signaling a return to the screen for the former senator from Tennessee.

Thompson most recently appeared as grizzled district attorney Arthur Branch on "Law & Order" and has played authority figures in the films "The Hunt For Red October," "Die Hard II" and "In the Line of Fire."

Thompson dropped out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination on Jan. 22.

I could not help, but notice your tag line.
Thompson would have been a more acceptable candidate than McCain.
My first choice unfortunately didn't make it.
My second choice, gone.
My “ill plug my nose” candidate, went too.
It is a sad state for the GOP when McCain is considered conservative.
A republican, a rino, maybe. Not conservative. Thompson would have been hands down better.

I have a “Don’t Blame Me I Voted for Fred” sticker.

One of the 1% in Texas who still voted for an actual conservative.

We lost when his candidacy ended. Not Fred Thompson.

Absoluely correct!

I still have a Fred bumper sticker on my vehicle. :)

So do I! I'm also drinking coffee from my Fred mug and I voted for him in the WI primary on Feb 19. :)

“I hope he picks up the paul harvey spot again.

Fred was the best dang candidate we had.
I’d put him up against Obama all day long”

I’m with you. He was the best and would have had no problem winning the White House against Obama or Hillary!

No, you’re wrong. And I remember who you used to push. Someone who would not have been a good President.

Fred would have been a great President. He would have been someone I could vote for. I guess this answers the question about Fred being a VP doesn’t it?

It wasn’t Fred that was lacking, but a lot of posters on FR were and are lacking in good judgment.

Jellybean, thanks for the ping. And Politicalmom I wish were were some way to get rid of the gnats and flies. They always swarm around when Fred’s name comes up. He deserved better from those who would call themselves conservatives.

You two did a great service to Fred supporters around here.

I wear my Fred Thompson sweatshirt, t shirt, drink from a Fred Thompson mug, wear a Fred Thompson jelly bracelet, etc. All in honor for the good that could have been and would have been.

I respect my Dad’s opinion more than just about anyone else’s.

It took me a while, but he finally said that FRed was absolutely the best qualified.

(Now he was on the wrong side of the Kosovo thing, but everyone deserves ONE mistake.... heeheehee)

Thanks for the ping. On FOX it was reported that Fred said he was returning to acting but if he were “drafted” he would run. What does that mean????

“...acted like he didn’t want to be there.”

“That was the best part.... Fred’s “All right, if no one else is gonna do it, I guess I’ll have to” attitude was a breath of fresh air.”

Indeed! Fred was the most honest candidate I have ever had the pleasure to have seen. And the ONLY one I have ever put on my car. He said and did what he wanted, and refused to run his campaign according to the expectations of the media. I will never forget the no show of hands reply - if you watch a clip you will see that his response was IMMEDIATE! Pretty good for old, slow poke Fred ; } - and if you watch really carefully, you can see who had already started to raise their hands, LOL - before they backtracked and seconded Fred. Good times indeed.

I miss Fred still.

tatt

I love how you want us to take your word on Fred beccause he was “your” senator for 8 years - but yet you were so quick to dismiss everything we Arkansans tried to tell you about Huckabee...very telling.

FYI, I was never a Huckabee supporter, just a defender on some issues.

Thanks for the ping jellybean. :) Good to to hear some Fred news.

I could see the spittle flying from some posts on this thread a mile away! Some things never change. lol

I hope he does something other than Law & Order... I just never could get into that show. Maybe cast him as a professor on Big Bang Theory! My computer nerd daughter has gotten me hooked on that one.

good to see everyone :)

Me too. Hubby and daughter also. Still have my autographed campaign sign displayed in the living room as well. Great conversation starters.

I got the chance to have him sign ‘The Fred Factor’ book and get my pic taken with him as well.
Now we’ve got three Dims running and no one to vote FOR.
